Will all the far-right partisan hacks on this board please read this: (and then look in the mirror)

Little Green Footballs - Why I Parted Ways With The Right

1. Support for fascists, both in America (see: Pat Buchanan, Robert Stacy McCain, etc.) and in Europe (see: Vlaams Belang, BNP, SIOE, Pat Buchanan, etc.)

2. Support for bigotry, hatred, and white supremacism (see: Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter, Robert Stacy McCain, Lew Rockwell, etc.)

3. Support for throwing women back into the Dark Ages, and general religious fanaticism (see: Operation Rescue, anti-abortion groups, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Tony Perkins, the entire religious right, etc.)

4. Support for anti-science bad craziness (see: creationism, climate change denialism, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, James Inhofe, etc.)

5. Support for homophobic bigotry (see: Sarah Palin, Dobson, the entire religious right, etc.)

6. Support for anti-government lunacy (see: tea parties, militias, Fox News, Glenn Beck, etc.)

7. Support for conspiracy theories and hate speech (see: Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Birthers, creationists, climate deniers, etc.)

8. A right-wing blogosphere that is almost universally dominated by raging hate speech (see: Hot Air, Free Republic, Ace of Spades, etc.)

9. Anti-Islamic bigotry that goes far beyond simply criticizing radical Islam, into support for fascism, violence, and genocide (see: Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, etc.)

10. Hatred for President Obama that goes far beyond simply criticizing his policies, into racism, hate speech, and bizarre conspiracy theories (see: witch doctor pictures, tea parties, Birthers, Michelle Malkin, Fox News, World Net Daily, Newsmax, and every other right wing source)

I love this guy. Finally a conservative blogger with the guts to say what needs to be said. The far-right has become an angry mob of bigots, religious fanatics and uneducated nitwits who want to blame a Democrat of color who won a national election for all their problems...

Charles Johnson is brilliant!!:good_job:

That is the most ignorant thing I have read today, but there is hope, it is early yet.

Only these three do I see a lot of, but I don't frequent the RW websites.

Most of the over-the-top stuff is just partisan hate, not racism. They piled on Clinton, Gore, and Kerry just as much as Obama.

I highly doubt a partisan hack is going to get much of a receptive audience by immediately starting the conversation out calling others partisan hacks.

After point 9 I became a supporter of the american right wing.

9-11 did change the world, even for non americans. In my country you could see the dividing line, some cheering in the streets, celebrating the events.

Yeah, God damn that far right crazy John McCain

What a load of trash. Part exaggeration, part grasping for extremes. He's "parting ways with the right". Where exactly is he going then? To the left? Cause you exaggerate things or grab the extremes over there and you get much the same.

what a load

Honestly the only things I see in that list is the extreme left version of what some on right here on this board do when they talk about liberals. Much like some on the right here do in regards to liberals, that list is not an accurate representation of the right as a whole. Yes, there are some on the right that fit different parts of that description, but not as a whole.

Perhaps he's going the way of William F Buckley who did something similar with the crop of crazies back in the 50s and 60s. He'll find company with David Frum, and Andrew Sullivan. Oddly, both of them are originally from another country. American conservatism has gone off the rails. Thinking conservatives are wise to stand up and call out the lunacy. There is major lunacy on the right, as of late.

The OP left off the last two sentences of the quoted article:
And much, much more. The American right wing has gone off the rails, into the bushes, and off the cliff.

I won’t be going over the cliff with them.

Sounds like a smart dude, to me.

More than some, less than the whole. The danger is that it is coming to be seen as representative of the right.

Anyone still believe that hazlnut is a moderate?

meh .... centrist, moderate, independent, liberal, conservative .... they are all dependent on where you live. They're relative terms.

The only ones that seem consistently the same, no matter where they live, is 'very liberal', or 'very conservative'. Those are the folks who REALLY mean it.

Hi Crip :2wave:
Hi Vauge :2wave:
Hi Katie :2wave:
Hi Del *sniff* :2wave:

It matters because we use those labels around here.

For what? I hope most people around here argue against the ideas people post, and not something stupid by what label they have attacked to themselves.

This is not important to me, I can read a person after a few posts, and this is why I don't fill out the silly description of myself, I don't appreciate labels.

It matters because we use those labels around here.

Except that labels mean nothing. We have self proclaimed Conservatives who are really flaming liberals. We have self proclaimed liberals who back right aligned authoritarian views. These labels mean nothing. Bodhavistta used to change his label daily just for kicks. That's probably the most accurate thing one could do here.

Anyone still believe that hazlnut is a moderate?

I don't think hazlnut would recognize a moderate who was in the process of kicking his sorry butt. :rofl

(That would be a NO.)

The fact he tries to lump Rockwell with most of the clowns which he openly despises is amusing. Also this article from way back when on his site pretty much sums his and other Rockwell supporters his general view of the American Right.

Why I parted ways with Little Green Footballs

Why I parted ways with Little Green Footballs
1. Calling everyone to the right of LGF "fascists," both in America (see: Pat Buchanan, Robert Stacy McCain, etc.) and in Europe (see: Vlaams Belang, BNP, SIOE, Pat Buchanan [He's European?], and 56 other microscopic splinter parties no one has ever heard of.)

2. Seeing bigotry, hatred and white supremacism in everything (see: Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter, Robert Stacy McCain, occasional Fox News viewers, etc.)

3. Confusing pre-Roe legal arrangements with "the Dark Ages," and faith for "fanaticism" (see: Christians, anti-abortion groups, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Tony Perkins, the entire religious right, etc.)

4. Support for anti-science bad craziness while pretending to be pro-science (see: creationism, climate change denialism, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, James Inhofe, etc.). And writing phrases like "anti-science bad craziness."

5. Support for Christophobic bigotry (see: Sarah Palin, Dobson, the entire religious right, etc.)

6. Confusing political participation with anti-government lunacy (see: tea parties, protests, Fox News, Glenn Beck, etc.)

7. Support for conspiracy theories and hate speech while pretending to oppose them (see: Al Gore, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Birthers, creationists, climate deniers, etc.)

8. A blog that is almost universally dominated by raging hate speech and intolerance of dissent (unlike Hot Air, Ace of Spades, etc.)

9. Anti-Islamic bigotry that goes far beyond simply criticizing radical Islam, into support for fascism, violence, and genocide. And then deleting said posts after the fact (see: Little Green Footballs)

10. Lumping all disagreements with President Obama with racism, hate speech, and bizarre conspiracy theories (see: witch doctor pictures, tea parties, Birthers, Michelle Malkin, Fox News, World Net Daily, Newsmax, and every other right wing source)

And much, much more. Little Green Footballs has gone off the rails, into the bushes, and off the cliff.

And I won’t be sticking around for Charles Johnson's "Evening Cliff" photo. (Followed by three videos of some tedious jazzbo.)

No, but it's a great way to identify hypocrites.
