More right wing Nazism. It's time for a massive lawsuit against the insurance provider.

It's time to bend them over and force feed them the sheer unmitigated bull**** they have been feeding people for the last 30 years.

Depression involves coping skills....just because someone can cope for a little while at a party doesn't mean the depression is gone.

I don't really know how to feel about this.

Having lived with a clinically depressed father for decades, I know a lot more than most people about what depression does and does not do to you. Unlike this lady, he works and has never missed a day due to depression. He laughs and has a good time too, but is still depressed. I think if you are able to make it to a party and have a good time, you can do SOMETHING. It would be no different than one of these "undercover investigations" where they show a supposedly crippled accident victim walking around inside his home. If he can walk, even with a limp, is he crippled?

I am not a doctor nor a psyc, so I don't know. But if shes feeling good enough to go to a party and then post the photos on her webpage, then yea, she is probably not feeling so depressed all the time that she shouldn't work.

I'm kinda 50-50 on the fence on this one. I can easily see both sides of the argument.

The story clearly says it's sick leave, not insurance. Her employer thinks she's faking it.

You only get so much sick leave. Insurance kicks when it runs out.

No men are anywhere, and Im allowed to go in, because Im the owner of the pageant and therefore Im inspecting it, Trump said... Is everyone OK? You know, theyre standing there with no clothes. Is everybody OK? And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.

100% correct. One who is clinically depressed is not crying 24/7. It amazes me how little understanding many have about mental health issues.

thanks....i agree with you. clinical depression does not necessarily mean one can't hold down a job.......and it's pretty easy to get diagnosed and medicated these days.

That's true. We do have to draw some sort of line in letting people off the hook of earning their own living. The wolf at the door can be a powerful motivator to force people into holding down a job and providing for themselves.

Well, it's not that easy. For many people, it is misdiagnosed as something else, or the depression gets in the way of getting diagnosed in the first place. And medication isn't magical. I saw a recent study that said many people don't respond to anti-depressants at all.
