Do you tip store employees if they help you find the product you're looking for by taking you directly to it?

No, but they do not make 2 dollars an hour.

Like I said, it's not my job to subsidize their wages. As long as people continue tipping, employers will continue to take advantage of it by paying lower wages.

I think that most of these people appreciate their situation, as they can screw the government, I happen to respect that, last of the free market!

That would depend on the state.

But as in this case, if the gratuity was over charged, then they should have it dropped.

Re: Couple Busted for Refusing to Pay Tip

If a person can't afford to tip properly, they can't afford to eat at that particular establishment.

Personally, I think we'd all be more generous, cheerful people if everyone had to spend at least a week in their lives waiting tables.

Also, if you tip poorly and return to the same establishment, expect to receive poor service from there on out. Your server will remember you and I can guarantee that they will pass along the information to any other server you may have. At the very least, the server will then devote their time to other tables at the expense of your service. At the worst...well...I'll leave that alone.

If you can afford the MENU price then you're good to go. Now, if you ever want good service there again, then you tip well.
