Oprah Ending Show in 2011

(AP) – Oprah Winfrey will end her talk show in 2011 after 25 years. She will provide more details during tomorrow's show, says her Harpo Productions. Winfrey started her broadcasting career in Nashville and Baltimore before relocating to Chicago in 1984 to host WLS-TV's morning talk show AM Chicago. It became The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1985 and has ruled the airwaves since.

The end of an era.

I can't say I'll miss it because I never watch it.

No need to watch it first hand to miss it. Her show was a newsmaker. Some other show will now have the opportunity to assume that media role.

Thank the sweet God.

Not shedding a tear. I wonder how many of her fan's are going to off themselves over this. No more messiah to tell you what to do.

Wow, I used the word messiah. *checks medication dosage*

I think she single-handedly has turned more people into zombies than an actual zombie outbreak would create.

Criticize her all you want but there's is no denying that she has done a lot of good for a lot of people. I don't watch her show, but have caught it periodically over the years. Though not my cup of tea, her show is most certainly steps above most other talk shows in what it had to offer.

I don't think she's quitting.. I think she's pulling a Howard Stern. Instead of syndication she'll just have an entire cable channel and move her show there.

Interesting how her ratings have steadily declined since she went political with Obama.

Yep, the "big three" many of us grew up with are quickly dying. Cable is where it's at, with seperate niche channels and much less FCC regulation.

Maybe sarah Palin enlightened her to the error of her ways while on the show......:2razz:
