Palin's book goes rouge on some facts

I read that she accuses Katie Couric of having low self-esteem in explaining why Katie asked her such probing questions. Oh brother. Frankly, Sarah Palin talks like a girl in middle school. It's really pathetic.

As a conservative registered Republican I have prior said Palin is not qualified/ready for high office. But I am steadily coming to see her as no less viable than any other contemporary politicians;
Chuck Todd's interview with Obama - First Read - msnbc.com
OBAMA: I don't think it will be offensive at all when he's convicted and when the death penalty is applied to him.

TODD: But having that kind of confidence of a conviction - I mean one of the purposes of doing - going to the Justice Department and not military court is to show of the the world our fairness in our court system.

OBAMA: Well --

TODD: But you also just said that he was going to be convicted and given the death penalty.

OBAMA: Look - what I said was people will not be offended if that's the outcome.
For all his supposed brilliance, the President is as flawed as the rest. And he has nothing but a slew of bad policies for the nation. At least Palin promotes values and policy I side with.

Look at Biden's recent guest spot on Stewart's show. Every Republican who speaks as well is labeled a moron. Bush 43, nothing more need be said for his many slips in both word and policy. Clinton was too immature to behave like a President. Ted Kennedy was made to look like a utter fool in several interviews.

Palin can't do any worse than anyone else seriously seeking the Presidency.

Why are you talking about Obama in a thread about Sarah Palin?

Why are you talking about Obama in a thread about Sarah Palin?

I believe I did have some words about Palin. But I used the President as an example to make my point. As I said, despite his education and presence, Obama has nothing on his predecessors and peers. The quote I attached shows some really dumb comments in its contradiction. And today before Congress, AG Holder was flat stumped.

Palin would probably be alright.

Yeah, okay. The thread is about how the facts in her book are being reported to be fiction. So maybe you want to address that?

So you would vote for a quitter.

Did you vote for Obama??

He quit the Illinois state senate to become a U.S. Senator in 2005.

He quit the U.S. Senate to become President in 2009.

Not all. Only a Libbos would ask such a silly question.

Hey you the one that brought it up and started comparing the Palin family and Obama family so it is hardly a silly question.

But I guess since you refuse to answer then you admit you are at fault.. :2wave:

Well, technically she is wearing rouge on the cover..and she is often seen wearing rouge.

Palin isn't capable of being truthful....she'll say and do whatever she thinks will appeal to her base.

WOW ... wow... I mean do you have any information to back this up.. I mean I read your responses and you apparently either read the Post's lies but didn't catch their corrections...

otherwise I'l assume your JUST another AP ...:2rofll: ... Jour....wait'a minute...:2rofll: ......OK.... :2rofll:... Journali....:2rofll: wait OK I got it..... Journalist...:2rofll: HHHHAAAWWWWWWWWWWW!

Palin: .....not "often" going for the "high-end, robe-and-slippers" hotels.

Fact Check: ...travel records indicate she usually opted for less-pricey hotels while governor,...

So she's telling the truth?

PALIN: Boasts that she ran her campaign for governor on small donations,

Fact Check: Of the roughly $1.3 million she raised for her primary and general election campaigns for governor, more than half came from people and political action committees giving at least $500,.......
So Again, she's telling the truth? Tose sound like mostly small donations to me.

PALIN: Says Ronald Reagan faced an even worse recession than the one that appears to be ending now, and "showed us how to get out of one. If you want real job growth, cut capital gains taxes and slay the death tax once and for all."

Fact Check: The estate tax, which some call the death tax, was not repealed under Reagan and capital gains taxes are lower now than when Reagan was president.

Economists overwhelmingly say the current recession is far worse. .........

This one is the best of all. Palin didn't say that Reagan repealed the death tax.
Reagan DID cut the capital gains tax. and since the book was written months ago, it is entirely debatable which recession is worse.

Looks like the fact checkers need to be checked.

No she did not. She says that Katie Couric was chosen by the McCain campaign on the grounds that she would probably give a more lenient interview because Couric had the lowest ratings of all the journalists at the time and that the interview would boost Couric's morale and give her a little bump to her possibly slumping spirits about being the lowest rated.

None of that is untrue.

Oh this is just going to be a field day.

So Disney is getting his jollies off from a story about EXCERPTS from the book "obtained by AP in advance of the book release"

Seriously?

Funny thing is, next Friday, she'll have the #1 best selling non-fiction book in the country. And nothing the AP twists will change that.

1) Al Franken also had a best selling book. You are going to take that seriously too?

2) Michael Moore won an Oscar. You are going to take that seriously too?

3) The 911 Truthers have a movie out. OK, OK, it's not going to win any awards, but it certainly has a cult following. Would you take that one seriously?

4) For the purposes of a quick poll, let me add Palin as choice number 4.

5) Let me also throw in "None of the above".

Who would you take seriously? Me? I think they are ALL idiots. I pick number 5. But you? Let me guess. Is it the one who has the (R) next to the name? How about that. I guessed right.

Well that is quite a list to go over. Having other more important things to do than researching all of this out, I will assume most if not all of it is fair. I'll guess there is a good chance she is as contradictory and hypocritical as the next guy.

The problem is we can compile an equal list for any of these people, and spend days meting it out to find the truth. Sorry, I just can't make the time. I am going to accept that you trust the AP on this one.

But keep in mind, despite their flaws, I am going to support those who stand the best chance of running the nation the way I think it should. Right now, for me, it's not Palin. I want Romney to be my next President.

You will find that when Palin Derangement Syndrome flares up around here, there is no reasoning with that crowd. It's best to jsut be ready to hand them a napkin so they can wipe the mouth foam off when the flare up subsides.

But Jall....can you blame us. She provides countless hours of comic relief and glee to us. Even the prospect that the GOP might nominate her in 2012 makes me downright giddy. Sorry if I can't help the foaming.

For being classless and having no regard for at least maintaining the illusion of being substantive and truthful?

Yeah, I can blame you for that.

Jall....I'm hurt....that's ok though.....

Classless....ok.....but its so fun to watch the trainwreck in action....But accusing me of not being truthful...I think that's off base. I am being extremely truthful in the reasons why I would love the GOP to nominate Palin in 2012 and you can't get more substantive than that. I've tried hard to hide nothing here.

That was an editorial "you". I think you are, if anything, very open about your motivations when you rip on Palin.

I am commenting more to the idea that people misrepresent a lot about the woman.

Thanks Jall....I do try to be honest....albeit not always classy!

Really? Here is the NY Times best seller list for non-fiction. Guess which book is not on it? Maybe you should check the best seller list for fiction. who knows? It might be on that one.

So you really aren't going to contribute anything except mindless ranting and mouthfoaming hyperbole intended to bait and troll?

No surprise there.
