The Obama Administration has suffered its first shake-up as White House Communications Director Anita Dunn steps down. Was the resignation Dunn's choice or was she forced out over the White House's war against Fox News. Dina Gusovsky talks to Ivan Eland about the decision to attack Fox and whether it was pandering to a liberal base alienated by the healthcare debate and Afghanistan.

I don't know the reason why, but it wasn't a good choice. I think that despite the obvious bias of Fox News, Obama should have just let this one go.

Just by the title, it was more sinister than that.

They tried to marginalize FOXNEWS. When a band of hatchetmen start trying to tell the nation what is a news network and what isn't is... they aren't throwing a bone, they're trying to eliminate the competition and control the entire message with their puppet networks.

They stepped over the "bone" line by a mile.

They should have tried to exterminate Faux News.

You say that like it would be a bad thing to eliminate Faux News.

A news channel is a media outlet that reports the facts. Fox News fails by any standard.

Your credibility is zero, no one except leftnuts believe you.

I think that, by making (by their own admission) the vast majority of their program opinion rather than news, they've done a fine job of that all on their own.
Well you go watch CNN then, now that Dobbs is gone you'll get the truth. Adios.

No thanks, I'll just stick to reading my news in articles than actually claim to be news, so that when I catch the author lying they can't hide behind the flag of "opinion" while at the same time portraying themselves as a rare beacon of "truth."

Let me add that ALL News networks pander to their base. Why? Because it's not news any more. It's infotainment, whether FOX News, MSNBC, or any other network, whether Conservative or Liberal leaning. And what drives infotainment? Not the truth. That much is obvious. It is all about money. And to that end, Keith Olberman is just as much of a media whore as Bill O'Reilly.

Well don't bother reading beyond the first few pages if it's a newspaper, because all the juicy, liberal inuendo is typically near the front page. If you want to see how the other half lives... the truth, you might catch the tiny articles of retraction on page 32 when they get caught for lying on page 1!

Actually, I was thinking of Olberman as more like one of Obama's bitches!

I'm one of those nutjobs who takes his news from enough sources that the combined juicy innuendo from the left, right, center, alternate dimensions and bizarro worlds combines to make a continuous hum which is fairly easy to relegate to background noise.

Like O'Reilly was one of Bush's bitches? Face it. They are ALL bitches.

The White House lost the battle with Fox News.

Too funny.

Too predictable.

If the Messiah had grown up in America he may have heard the aphorism that one shouldn't pick fights with people who buy ink by the barrel.

Yeah, you're right. It's not wise to pick a fight with a broadcaster which has all of its talking heads marching in lock-step, reading off the same script 24/7, and hiding behind the flag of "opinion" while doing everything in their power to project an air of honesty and truth.

You can't just decide that entities are equable because of general trends. Fox News is worse than any single 'liberal' equivalent, including MSNBC. They are systematically, not just sentimentally, against liberalism and for conservatism.

Its very easy to substitute administration for broadcaster there.

I think the one who picked the fight was the lady who was just pushed out. While everyone in the White House knows Fox is a joke, it's improper to say it.

It was previously established she was only holding the position on a temporary basis, and now this is all getting blown out of proportion and spun that she was FORCED to quit,.. psshh.. anything to land a few jabs, or claim victory when there was none for the partisans I suppose.

4/30/09:

Anita Dunn... will take over as White House communications director at least temporarily...

...The powerful post is being vacated by Ellen Moran this week, and Obama officials want to fill it quickly.

Dunn will start working next week in an interim capacity

much ado about nothing, there is no news here, but what the heck.. continue to :spin: away on this, it is not like it was unexpected at all.

They did try.

I see you are a very open minded person. Tolerant as well.
Are you in Obama's inner circle jerk by chance?

Have you sent dead fish before?
Does your name start with an "R"?

Free your mind...
