58% Say Next President Likely To Be Republican

Trust me....Jindal was DOA. The man did so horribly that there is no way that the GOP will back him. It was unlikely that they would have backed him anyway....his performance was simply the nail in his coffin.
See now? There is that DD appeal to irrational bilge I was speaking about. Nobody, precisely nobody with a politically sharp mind would hang a coffin nail on your prognostications. Need me to 'splain it to you further? Or do you already know exactly how much your comments in this thread reside in the realm of the "wish it was so" universe? I'm serious too. Be glad to assist ya.

wasnt the best....But certainly not horrible.I've seen Obama do worse.

Not even close. Obama is widely known as a great orator.

Jindals performance was panned even by the vast majority of the GOP. Seriously....people were shocked by how bad he did.

I watched because I had no clue who the guy was. I had heard that he was a fast up and comer in the GOP.
After watching him, all I could think was wow....if that is the GOP's up and comer....God help the GOP.

Sorry Sirloin....I gotta disagree with you here. I don't think this comes even close to a "Wish it were so".
For weeks after...people were still talking about how bad he did. Sometimes people can rebound. In Jindals case, it isn't going to happen. He has too many other hurdles to overcome to ever get the GOP nomination. Sorry to say for him....this was a performance that he won't recover from.

Just watched it again....even worse than I remember:

And that is precisely the kind of prognostication that owes to your own political ideology, not common sense. Sorry to break it to ya.

Maybe so....I don't pretend to be anything other than a far-left partisan.
However....it wasn't just the far-left that was talking about how bad Jindals performance was and how bad it hurt his chances of ever being considered a serious Presidential candidate.

Then we shall agree to disagree!

Palin.

You folks freak about her and try to destroy her because she is a serious threat.

She's a straight forward no nonsense woman that has actually done something with her life. Actually had jobs and was in positions of leadership.

She doesn't run away from her friends and relationships as Thuggo Edsel Obama has. She has no terror ties oand wasn't mentored by a raving Marxist Racist lunatic. And... be sure, Thuggo Edsel Obama's past is not something off limits for her... she would tie his anti-American behavior directly to his radical past.

She loves this country as it was founded... and has no intention to "remake" America.

I'd love to see her take on the teleprompteur.

.

The GOP is in a lot of trouble if they hitch their wagon to Palin.

In which way is a burden being taken away?

Do you know who pays for the uninsured?

:roll:I went without insurance for many years and NOBODY ever picked up any of my tabs.Your going to have to explain how everyone else picks up these tabs.

Sure you didn't. I love how people like to argue that no one picks up the tab for the uninsured. Apparently you've never seen the financials of various hospitals across the country. Ever wonder why most hospitals in the US are constantly in the red and often getting money for operations from their states? Because they are being forced to eat the healthcare costs from the uninsured. If the uninsured actually paid, hospitals wouldn't be in the red. Hospitals are closing across the country for a reason, part of it is the cost of providing service to the uninsured. And wonder why health care premium for the rest of us are rising? You don't want to know just how much of your private insurance is being taken to subsidize the costs of the uninsured. Dirty little secret those regulating the private insurance don't want you to know.

How exactly did you think the bills of the uninsured were being paid?

giving yourself a little too much credit.

I merely quoted you.

Besides, I doubt this bill will go anywhere in the Senate. Not enough people have died for America to act. Face it, the only time we change is when we should have a month ago. Not a big enough crisis.

Perhaps you did'nt see the part where I said "Manufacturing BASE".

Tell me, if we replace low paying jobs with lots of high paying design jobs, are we better off?

Besides, automation is killing manufacturing anyways. Why bother to pay 50 guys to do the manual labor when I can pay 2 to manage the machines who do it? You do realize that American manufacturing products are on the rise no?

http://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/statistics/historical/gands.pdf

People mistake a reduction in manufacturing jobs as the destruction of American manufacturing. If that was the case, then the electric loom destroyed English textiles despite increasing amounts of textiles being produced.

That study has already been disproven. The fatal flaw is that it assumes that jobs would have been created in the first place. That's a huge assumption. Furthermore, ever heard of a country called Denmark?

FOXNews.com - Denmark Points Way in Alternative Energy Sources - Science News | Science & Technology | Technology News

Yes, That's FOX.

That one speech wasn't terrific, but compared to the gaffs Obama has made, it's a drop in the ocean.

If he runs, that won't register one iota. Not even a tenth of an iota.

What are people going to say... yeah, I like Jindal, but that speech nobody can remember... that disqualifies him in my mind. LOL.

Not. It's long forgotten, except for in the minds of a few on the fringe left.
Nice for the village called Denmark, and other hamlets, but not feasible on a scale that would function for the US.

There is enough oil for another century at least, and more and more being found, and more technologies being created to extract oil from previously closed locations. We should look to converting, but first let's use oil until we have viable alternatives. Wind isn't one. No wind, no energy.

Germany has wind too, highly subsidized and not profitable. Not saying alternate sources shouldn't be tried, but wind is a fffffart in a hurricane.

It's why BP dropped out of renewables. No money honey.

For his sake I hope you are right. However, with all the other hurdles in his way I think its safe to say stick a fork in him....he's done.

Can one speech kill a person's prospects. Absolutely. Look at Howard Dean.

Totally different scenarios.

I cannot understand why the Dean Scream ended his run. Well, I do understand. The press didn't want Dean and that moment was used to kill him off.

Serious character flaws like 20-years with a racist, bigot, Marxist, anti-American; mentor Wright... associating with Ayers... very serious stuff was apologized for by the press. But the Dean Scream... no, no, no... can't have that.

What is equally bad was Obama's defense of Wright, then throwing him under the bus, as well as him ultra-lame excuse that he was 8-years old when Ayers was a terrorist. Mind blowing.

100% absurd.

Actually, and you should know better, won't matter a hill of beans in two years. Did not matter a hill of beans two minutes ago either.

It will matter simply because he won't improve. The man is a caricature of a politician and doesn't even know it.

The economy will not be back by 2012, so this is a one term president.

That speech will haunt him until the end of time. He's now the Mad Magazine/Bobby the Page dude. A joke.

Palin might very well get obama re-elected, if she runs as a third party.
