Re: 58% Say Next President Likely To Be Republican

    Not necessarily.

First off, this does not really tell us when the benchmark for "next President" would take place. This could mean 2012, with the election of a Republican. At the same time, this could also mean in 2016. A "next President" may simply mean a different body, because we do not really count two-term Presidents as two Presidents.

Second, this is a very basic lesson in electoral history. It is highly unlikely that a member of the same party will be able to extend a party's one or two-term score into a third or even fourth term. It is not surprising that people think it is "somewhat likely" that a member of the other party will become the "next President".

Re: 58% Say Next President Likely To Be Republican

I would have preferred to hear that it would be a Conservative because Republicans like Lindsey Graham do a poor job of representing the type of views and policies that can pull this country back together once the Socialist/Communist influence has been placed on the scrap heap of history.
By 2010 the House should back under adult control and there will be time to stop the Draconian health bill should it pass the Senate and the totally dumb ass Cap and Trade BS fully based on a HOAX.

As to the question of what could happen under a Conservative the sky is the limit if who ever it is has some executive management experience. Right now I can think of a number of immediate changes in direction and spending that would translate into near instant benefits to most Americans and the economy.
One thing example that could help everyone would be to help the 1/8th of the economy that is in part failing because of a tiny fish the Delta Smelt. I say turn on the water for the farmers who feed us more than most know and start work on a hatchery to save the stupid fish. It just makes sense to solve problems rather than create more by thinking increased taxes is the answer for everything, when in fact they are the problem. And have never been the solution.

Interestingly enough, there doesn't appear to be an incumbent who did not get reelected during a boom year but there are several who failed to get reelected during a recession.

July 1990 –Mar 1991 was HW. Lost
July 1981 –Nov 1982 was Carter. Lost
Aug 1929 –Mar 1933 was Hoover. Lost

There are plenty of incumbents who either inherited a recession or had one that ended well before the election who won reelection.

Declarations of who will be the next president will be now seem awfully ignorant of history and coming from someone who has done product and industry forecasts, exceptionally stupid.

58% Say Next President Likely To Be Republican
I'll bet that, one year into the previous administration, more than 58% would've predicted that the next president was likely to be Republican.

    Cap, Tax and spend.
    The attempt at Socialist Care.

    LOL...

    Yes... he's an economic genius.

Next time round, this guy will have to defend his actions. If we have a decent candidate, someone who will drag the press to the s**t pile Obama has made, and put their noses in it like a puppy... so they ask a few questions on par with Joe the Plumber... Obama will get his ass kicked.

By then the race card BS may have worn irritatingly thin. As you know... he and his chumps like to play it.
