But NATO advantage in Afghanistan hasn't led to anything close to victory

We're fighting guerrillas. There's really no way to achieve a standard "Victory" short of glassing the place.

It comes from everywhere that people place some other ideology ahead of their rightful loyalty to their people, and thus attribute the actions of our enemies to our supposed "moral failings" instead of the fact that every nation has allies and enemies and the most powerful nations moreso.

It's disgusting in any event, but what else would you expect from zealots?

Yeah, it seems that zealots give everyone a bad name these days. If I were the entirety of Islam, and I'm not, I'd get a leash on those dogs before one of em gets out and mauls the wrong person.

Small city, Very vulnerable to terrorist attacks. We are multi-racial with a sizable muslim population (20%) but there is racial harmony. We been badly affected by the US financial meltdown. Our economy is export driven - mainly to USA and Europe. The challenge is to re-engineer the economy so that when USA catches cold we don't sneeze.

Could be worse. You could be Saudi Arabia and IMPORT everything.


I am concerned though...20% Muslim population....I've heard that's minimum odds that any given radical fundamentalist Muslim likes :lol:

The woes of being a decentralized faith. They're like Protestants, in that there's simply no central authority by which impose order, and every Imam is free to teach Islam as he pleases with little interference.

What I wouldn't give to purge my own faith of the specter of Neo-Nazism. Unfortunately, the price of freedom includes having to sit back and watch as people abuse it in the most disgusting ways...

Just don't wait until something happens and then take action - its too late. Govt.arrested abt 30 terrorists belonging to the Jehmiah Islamia (linked to Alkeida abt 5 years ago. Some of them are still being detained without trial. Some were released cuz they went through a rehabitalization program and did not pose a threat. Govt also wont allow muslims to hold key positions in the army.

Well, just don't expect anyone to come save you guys if they start messing with your infrastructure. You can let China deal with the Muslims though I guess...

Well he was talking **** about our boys in Afghanistan so I'm taking the "Kill 'em with kindness" approach and it's been working so far. just LOOK at us getting along! And I learned something about Singapore so, I guess we all win.

We live at peace with the muslims. We are surrounded by muslim countries like Indonesia and Malaysia. Indonesia is the largest muslim country in the world with a population of 220 million.

I'm hoping so...if even a small fraction of that many Muslims went militant...I'd be worried.
