I wanted to post this article so that people would reconsider the concept that Fox News has the highest ratings. Yes, its true when comparing cable news networks. But how does this compare to network news and by HOW MUCH?
To demonstrate this, I am going to list the ratings by average households. I would agree this is apple and oranges but the point is that the evening network news is still a large influence. So this is the current ratings by household:
Ratings by average household
NBC 6.3 million
ABC 5.9 million
CBS 4.6 million
Fox 1.0 million
CNN .5 million
MSNBC .3 million
Network newscasts still dominate :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Lewis Lazare
