Z on TV: Another bad moment for White House in war on Fox - Sun critic David Zurawik writes about the business, culture and craziness of television - baltimoresun.com

Here, Campbell Brown asks Valerie Jarrett about the White House war against Fox News. It gets amusing when Jarrett starts backpedaling as soon as Brown asks about MSNBC.

Especially hilarious is a White House adviser talking about "speaking truth to power." I guess the Permanent Campaign continues.

Funny, you must have seen a different clip, a fantasy clip maybe? In the one I saw, Jarrett dismisses MSNBC because they have not been concocting lies and trying to influence policy dishonestly, like Fox has.

Yeah. We'll see what everyone thinks about that.

:rofl

Funny? Yes, but can you, unlike the rest of the Fox OCD cult, provide us with some examples of concoted lies and influencing policy dishonesty? Or, like the rest of the Fox OCD crowd, do you have some stuff from one of the Fox pundits or PM show hosts to post? So far all I can find at DP are folks wanting to be taken seriously, yet pointing to what O'Rielly or Hannity or Beck said, as THEY were Fox News. Aside from that, good attempt at trying to explain the hypocrisy Jarrett enjoys wallowing in. It was not effective, but good TRY. I suspect that YOU are concocting lies and attempting to influence others to your ideological POV and that you likely CAN'T produce much that "Fox News" has done that fits your screed:2razz:

I don't think personal opinions about either fox or msnbc really matter. I believe what matters is the presidency of the united states of america is singling out a news agancy in an effort to exert control over the kind of stories it airs.

I'm sure already understand that anything that a Liberal doesn't agree with is a lie by default.

I don't think PBO is trying influence the stories that FNC runs. I'm sure he knows he can't do that, but he is trying to influence all the other news orgs. Now, that, he can do.

Precisely..................

Marginalize fox. That makes sense from the white house viewpoint.

As a liberal don't you find that abhorrent?
I don't cling to any party philosophy so I find the current actions of the Obama admin as regards this topic not only idiotic but very childish too. As are the defenses of this action I see in evidence at DP and elsewhere. Grown adults throwing away any sense of rational discourse on such an obvious issue, because well you know, Obama is their guy and it is OK when it is their guy. Then sprinkle some blather about Bush into the mix and maybe rant a bit about boogie man Limbaugh too.

And the kazoo band played on............

Yes but is it really a lie if it just a delusion they actually believe?

The Top Ten Liberal Lies

Once they buy into it they are emotionally invested in believing the lies and can no longer be trusted to objectively examine the issues. You can see the exampes quite often. A mountain of evidence becomes vapor once the blinders are firmly in place.

Oh please. Barack Obama can't do anything. In fact, he's making his problem worse. That's why it was a miserable public relations decision on his administration's part to begin with.

The other thing that amuses me is some liberal Obama fans are claiming it was apart of some mastermind plan to distract the critics while they push forward their agenda. Obama is now a master escape artist.

An example of the tinted shades. She got called on her inconsistencies and that was that.

There have been several big stories this year that we never would have known about if it wasn't for FoxNews. Isn't that what's important? Sorry that the Obama bashing bothers people but the news media is not about making you feel good about your president, it's about letting you know what your leaders are up to. Good or bad.

Stories which the Obama administration was able to rely upon the "other" news stations to ignore and fail to report, which is of course a failure of their journalistic integrity. Until they got so widely discussed and known about that the so called "real" news sources had to say aw shucks and report those stories they really just would not have liked to due to political ideaology. :doh

It is my experience that a great many who suffer with Fox OCD Syndrome are really just *mad* that sources like Fox exist out there. It really is very frustrating when people keep track of the news and are able to debunk false claims and highlight journalistic *fail* when one is in the midst of a screed lacking truth, substance or a point based in ideology rather than fact. "They" would much rather there was no dissenting voice in the mainstream media at all and that is what at the end of the day really tells you about the integrity of much of the hullabaloo about Fox News OCD sufferers here and elsewhere.

Your answer makes the assumption that Fox is a news agency. The entire thrust of the administration's charge is that they are primarily a political tool. So the White House is not trying to influence Fox, they are exposing them.

The fact of the matter is that by anything but an internet loon's ideologically tinted spectacles, Fox News is in fact a 24 hour news service that exist in the *REAL* world. Ranting that this is not the case and gutter snipping at others comments and statements, while hiding behind your meek "well documented" but never linked to or sourced examples, is a intellectually dishonest and cowardly approach to debate. Meaning you just are not good at it, mostly because you have no idea how to engage in it.

So tell us is there such a thing as a real news agency? CNN do it for you?

I'm amazed and embarrassed for ANYONE who hangs their hat on ANYTHING Jarrett says!

This hack is the consummate radical, socialist mouthpiece, and I'm talking in the entire known universe.. what'a piece of work this t**t is!

It was plain ridiculous judgment, from a man who claimed to be stellar in that dept.
