Air India pilots, crew come to blows at 30,000 ft

ARTICLE: Air India pilots, crew come to blows at 30,000 ft - India Business - Business - NEWS - The Times of India

Saurabh Sinha & Neha Lalchandani, TNN 4 October 2009, 12:53am IST

Endangering the lives of 106 passengers and grossly violating safety norms, the airline staffers came to blows in the cockpit and galley of the Indian Airlines Airbus A-320 as the aircraft cruised over Pakistan en route to Delhi via Lucknow from Sharjah.
    . . .
"She hit the cockpit door with such force that she started bleeding. When Amit Khanna, the purser, saw her in this condition, he went to the cockpit to ask what was happening. At this point, the pilots got abusive and started a fight with him," said a representative of the IA cabin crew, who added that the actual fight took place on the Lucknow-Delhi segment.
The only thing missing is a lawsuit from a planned suicide bomber who was on-board at the time and was so terrified by the event that he's claiming damages for mental suffering.

I read the story a few time to try and figure out what the point is. I did notice that the newspaper is either not professional or they write in Indianish instead of English.

"female colleague who later filed a molestation complaint against them with the cops after the flight landed in Delhi. " Who ever heard of the media refering to the police a "cops" except maybe the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS in headlines but they are allowed they are the Daily News but schnoes are THE TIMES OF INDIA !!! WTF !!
I do not recall the Viet Cong asking me if I was a natural born or Naturalized American before they shot at me, they just shot at all of us f107HyperSabr

Okay can you sound more dumb? Indianish? Its called Hindi.. there are a considerable amount of languages in India. But Hindi is spoken by over half of them and is considered as the official language of India.

As for the source. The Time of India was formed in 1838 and is one of the oldest newspapers in the world. So yes it is a professional newspaper. It is the oldest standing English newspaper in India, and no English is not the official language of India.

As for the cops remark. If you noticed it is there once.. all other references to the police is stated as "police" or "authorities". Typo maybe..?

Why are you bringing Hindi into this story or your rant back me ? The Times of India (TOI) is a English-language daily newspaper therefore I was able to read that story. If it was in Hindi I would not have been able to read it since I do not read Hindi. Do you ?

So who is dumb now ??!??!

I really thought that people would see that I was teasing. You obviously must not be be bilingual and or do not speak a language that has a hybrid of English such as Spanglish, Italianglish, Ukrainianglish, and let us not forget Ubonics, etc.

I know that the The Times of India is an old paper on the SouthWest Asian plain.

I also enjoy to listen to and or read other languages besides English. I also know that the Indians have adopted English from their former masters and that they have "enhanced" English with certain let's say colloquialism ( sp) !!

I was just teasing about the use of the word COPS in that story. I found that cute.

I grew up speaking two languages and I also "spoke" a Ethnic ( fil in the blanks) - Glish as a teenager when with members of my ethnic group and we thought that it was funny. Some of our parents communicated with us it the hybrid language since they were not technically fluent in English and most of us were not technically fluent in the language of our parents.
