I am not sure what they are hoping to gain by this? Probably just will get a rise out of Fox and Fox viewers, which will probably keep it in the press (and for a much larger audience) for much longer than anyone will remember what Beck had to say on the subject.

If the White House "calls out" Fox for everything they say, it will eliminate the ability of the White House to discuss actual issues, and the story will just become the feud with Fox. That is a losing scenario for the White House.
