    Thanks to your quick thinking, the democrats are now in the clear... So move along people... move along... there's nothing to see here.

    Politics will be politics, a majority of the senators (D and R) probably didn't even read the damn bill, but voted with their party. It's stupid, but wouldn't be surprised. I don't think it's him trying to dismiss blame, but rather pointing out the instability of the ecosystem in general.

    Did you even read your own link?

    Want to guess how many tons of food the central valley produces? Now want to compare that to the grain growing regions of the US? Now want to then extrapolate the amount of meat that is produced directly from that grain? On a caloric basis, the central valley is completely irrelevant. An insane amount of calories are gained from high fructose corn syrup. That stuff is in everything.

    [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grain_Belt]Grain Belt - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

    You are mistaking dollar value for tons. Caviar is super high in dollar value. Does that feed lots of people? No.

    The notion that the food grown in the central valley, which for the most part is low calorie high dollar value is more of a breadbasket then the vast corn regions of the grain belt is certifiably insane and a complete failure to understand the modern American industrial food system.

    Look at the list of the crops grown in your blog. Tell me, can we raise vast numbers of chickens, hogs and cows on that? Can we turn those crops into extremely high caloric sugar replacements? Can we produce billions of tons of bread products from them?

    Can you name the branch which voted against the legislation to turn the water back on
    I wasn't aware there was a constitutional amendment that was voted to overturn the statute the court order was based on. Can you cite this?

    The water was turned off because of the delta smelt. The democrats voted against the legislation to turn the water back on. Which of those two statements are false?
    What's the point in voting on legislation that you know is unconstitutional and will be quickly overturned?

    I see you dropped your batcrazy argument this is Obama's fault.

    That was sarcasm... The economic viability of growing food in that region has nothing to do with restricting the water that farmers have depended on for decades to grow crops.

    Uh, for that matter, I am not willing to concede economic considerations did not play a role in the passing of this bill, whatever Hannity or the article says.

    Lester Snow is against the water turn off. Let's see a direct quote from Snow.

    ... of course it is? Coping with expenses is one of the most fundamental concerns of government, and nobody is entitled to subsidies or state-financed support -- they get them because it is economically or socially expedient for whatever reason.

    The Central Valley produces 8% of the countries agricultural output on only 1% of this countries total farmland.

    Do you have any evidence that supports your belief?

    Or are you just spit-balling for an explanation that more suites what you would like to believe to be true?
