Jimmy "Smeagol" Carter plays the worn race card

The reason the Dems are screaming racism at every turn, is because it's all they have left. They know their short reign is over, almost before it even began. The country's first crack at Liberalism failed in less than a year. They're desperate. They'll say anything, at this point. The sad part, is that they can't realize that the more they cry racism, the deeper they dig their own graves.

The biggest voice I hear crying racism this and that has come from the right.

Myself from another thread --

Because there's only one thing that 20th century socialism has been right about, and that's opposing racism. (And even that victory comes with a long list of asterisks and qualitative clarifications, but let's be generous. And libertarians have been right about it as well, they just have so many other things to brag about.)

Since being right feels good, socialists are always trying to recapture that high, like hopeless crack addicts, but they just haven't been right about anything else, ever. So they keep bring up racism into the conversation entirely out of context (ex. "How's the weather today? RACISM!"), just to remind themselves that they were right about something, once.

Re: Jimmy "Smeagol" Carter: opposition to Obama is racist

Racism is still a pretty strong, if sublimated, current in American culture. I don't see Carter arguing that any criticism of Obama's policies is racist either. He says an "overwhelming portion" is motivated at least partially out of racist sentiment.

Hyper partisan strawmans for the win though.

And this statement is based upon what, exactly? Any evidence would be appreciated.

ARTICLE: Carter Cites 'Racism Inclination' in Animosity Toward Obama | 44 | washingtonpost.com

Question for the group: "If Jimmy carter got Alzheimer's, how could we tell? "

I think at this particular time we need to heed Carter's words and shy away from all of this dissent ACORN, Van Jones, Health Care and really ask ourselves if racism is in each of our lives and what we can do to eliminate it? AND more importantly how we can help this administration so that we can project to the world that anyone can succeed in this great country. So again let's hold off on these other mickey mouse issues that will resolve themselves over time and embrace Carter's wisdom to help educate us all on what is really hurting this administration because if we can eliminate racism we can all unite and have health care reform. What do we want? HEALTH CARE! When do we want it? NOW!

You think Carter secretly has blacks working on his peanut farm?

I think at this particular time we need to tell Carter to STFU.

Context for Carter's statement:

"I think it’s based on racism," Carter said, referring to some of the recent criticism of President Obama. "There is an inherent feeling among some people that an African-American should not be President of the United States."

The public depiction of President Obama as a Nazi and other negative images is troubling, Carter said.

"The outrage we see, the scatological language, the signs we see on TV... those kind of things are not just caused by a debate over whether we should have a national healthcare system," Carter said.

The remarks stemmed from a question asking the former President what he thought of US Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC), who shouted "You lie" at President Obama during a speech on healthcare reform he delivered to a joint session of US Congress on September 09, 2009.
[Carter called the remark "a dastardly thing to do."

"The President is not only the head of government, he is the head of state," Carter said. "No matter who he is or how much we disagree with his policies, the President should be treated with respect."

I'm saying that anyone running for office for the GOP has avoided Dubya like the plague. He's persona non grata in the GOP.

Only AFTER Bush took our economy to hell in a handbasket, but while Bush was in office, they loved his ass. LOL.

**Without any slew of evidence whatsoever, the premise of these arguments and discussions look just like the scribble above.

Yeah? So? Where's he been for the last 40 years when Republicans were routinely called "Nazis"? Where was he when on the House floor, Democrats referred to "the Taliban wing of the Republican Party"? At a time when we had people dying fighting the actual Taliban? (Of course we still do, but this was very early on.)

Poll: Most Americans see lingering racism -- in others - CNN.com

But just 13 percent of whites and 12 percent of blacks consider themselves racially biased.

Wow. Only 10% or so consider themselves straight-up racist. That's not enough for a current at all.

Actually, it is. Then add in the subverted racism detailed in the article and you're all good.
