I'm sure that Boustany objected to giving free insurance to children whose parents make 80 g's a year, which I certainly agree with.

Don't want to hear from someone who doesn't actually want to accomplish health care insurance reform ....
I don't want to hear from anyone that wants to pass an entitlement program, disguised as health care reform.

Ehrm, that would disqualify ALL those GOPers who passed Medicare prescription bill .... WITHOUT paying for it.

Just saw this posted about Boustany ~

    A Kinder, Gentler GOP?

Rep. Charles Boustany (R-LA), a physician who will give the GOP response to Obama's joint address to Congress tomorrow on health care, has actually co-sponsored with Democrats what some in his party would call "pro-death panel" legislation and has conceded that the Sarah Palin-inspired death panel freak-out "got really out of hand."

Maybe he won't be an Eric Cantor, or Michele Bachman. I'm back to thinking maybe he's a good choice.

Why is everyone avoiding the real elephant in the room? The opposition to healthcare overhaul stems from those who will lose billions if the system is changed. From the insurance companies to the hospitals and drug makers. As the system is, these people are able to order tests that are wasteful, or block coverage, or charge extreme amounts for cheap pills. There is profit to be lost and these people want to see to it that it does not happen. Lets shine light where light needs to be shone.

The funny thing is they think a Doctor will have more credibility, when much of the problem is that doctors order uneeded tests, many of which are retests that previous doctors have performed, just so they can bill for it.

Duplication of tests, and unnecessary tests is a problem, that's true.
I think denial of coverage is a bigger problem tho.

But, both need to be addressed, no doubt.
