IIRC, the only evidence that it did happen is the radio show host's friend said he had a friend who heard it happened. There was no detailed info as to school or names provided. So there's not really anyway to verify it at all.

    Not very substantial, imho. YMMV

I knew a friend whose cousin knew lady in western NY who went grocery shopping. When she came home the back door was open. She didn't think much about it . . . it was a small town where the doors rarely got locked and neighbors often stopped in. But when she got into the kitchen, she found their dog doberman on the floor in obvious distress. She loads the dog into her truck and speeds to the vet. The vet tells her to leave the dog, he'll call when he knows something. About an hour later, he calls and asks if she's looked around her house. She hadn't, but, puzzled, agrees to. Upstairs, in front of her jewelry chest is a puddle of blood, and the room is a mess. Frightened, she asks the vet what's going on. He tells her to hang up and call the police immediately. He thinks her house has been broken into, because the dog was choking on human fingers!
    I may be wrong.

I'm not being critical of you but I find odd in the least that so many have accepted that, even though our schools are well funded, people still have to donate supplies because the district can't afford it on their own.

Districts have, from what I've seen, become bureaucratic monsters where "administration" eats up far too much of the budget.

Return control of schools to local districts, and most especially to the taxpayers and parents of those districts!

That is the crazy thing though, a great majority of the schools are controlled locally.
Except for some curriculum standards, they are managed more by the school boards than anything else.

Without commenting on whether I believe this actually happened somewhere...

If that happened in my son's classroom, my head would explode. You'd hear about it on the news, because I'd probably lose my **** and get arrested.

I know some teachers....Federal education board requirements have generated massive stacks of paperwork beyond belief, which is probably one reason for the massive bureaucracy.

So, because it's never been done before it's not a "realistic" concept?
