I doubt seriously that there is any validity to this story.
Even if it is true, it is seriously overblown. The headline makes it sound like our schools are being overrun, which is hardly the case.

    Re: Communisum in our Schools.

First off, the story probably is nothing more than a rumor. However, assuming it is true, the problem is that speaking on behalf of middle class parents across this nation, we are tapped out.

I pay property taxes on our home every year for our kids school. However, we also paid 280 dollars a month for our kids to have all day kindergarten instead of a half a day kindergarten. If you are poor, and thus qualified for free or reduced lunches, that was free.

We pay 95 dollars a kid to register them every year. If you are poor, and thus qualify for free or reduced lunches, that is free to you.

We pay hundreds a month for after school care. Its a reduced rate for poor kids that qualify for free or reduced lunches.

We send our kids every day with lunch money or a packed lunch, of course poor kids get their lunch for free.

This in what is literally one of the wealthiest counties in the nation. We are already heavily subsidizing people that have kids that they obviously can't afford in the first place. So I am drawing a line in the sand. We are not buying their school supplies. I am sorry, but if parents cannot afford their kids school supplies when they already get free registration, free all day kindergarten, reduced rates on after school care, and free lunches, then you know, tough, a condom would have been a hell of a lot cheaper than those school supplies.

I hate to be that way, but we are tapped out and I am kind of sick of hearing these same people who have their kids on free lunches and get all this other free stuff spew out all kinds of big ideas they have at every school board or pta meeting. There are lots of great ideas out there when you are spending other peoples money to implement them. Personally, I have a great idea myself, instead of giving the kids from third grade on a tablet PC to take tests with, how about we put that money toward all day kindergarten where middle class families are not stuck shelling out $280 a month on top of their taxes.

Sorry for the rant, but as you can see, I am sick of it.

    Re: Communisum in our Schools.

This was how it was in my elementary school.

Kindergarten through 3rd grade, kids bought supplies and they were all lumped together in a big box. Whenever there was a project, the supplies were handed out and after the project was done, they were returned.

It was that way until 4th grade, then everyone kept their own supplies in their own pencil cases. It worked out since kids understood the concept of sharing by 4th grade and would willingly lend one another a pencil or piece paper when necessary. Of course, there was the occasion of stealing when someone had an especially nice folder or notebook, but such incidents were rare as most kids had the same things since their parents didn't seem to be in the habit of buying particularly expensive school supplies.

Haha. This story is more BS from some crazed dispensers of lies. How fun... It's really amazing that people fall for this crap.
It's time for a revolution in our country. Not a revolution forged with guns and bombs but a revolution forged of compassion and altruism. A revolution that extends a hand to those who don't have and who cannot. A revolution that makes Health Care available to all those in the US.

Yup, that is the way it is at my wife's school. Much easier to deal with.

So, it's complete BS, but something not appreciably different goes on at your wife's school?

    Re: Communisum in our Schools.

I hate Communism with a passion and my family suferred at the hands of filthy invader Russians who brought Communism to the land of my parents. Both of my Grandfathers were sent to Siberia. One for having the insight and ability to own multiplr farms and the other for owning a tailorshop-shoe store-small genaral store in his vllage.

Yet I find it very hard to believe that the story the OP posted could have happened here and if there was one case of that I cannopt beleive that it could have happened more than once. I also have a hard time beleiveing that the school authorities didn't shut that teach down if he/she did pull off such a stunt.

As I said I hate Communist/ and Russians with a passion therefore I get very irritated if someone makes up BS stories and /or calls someone or something Comminist that is not. If anyone if stupid enough to pull of a lying stunt and post BS about some phoney Commmunist I hold that they realize that they are actually supporting and abetting the real Communists becasue whne a real Communist shows up the people will not recognize it.

There is a diference between common school supplies vs. the story of a teacher supposedly putting all the lunch boxes in a pile and haveing he kids take what they want. I am not in agrement with the common school supply scheme either but the OP needs to really provide real proof that all of the lunch boxes were put into a pile and kids taking what they want.

I agree with roadie sounds like BS to me!!!
