Here's my opinion; Democrats are dishonest. But alas, it can also be substantiated by many facts, but why would I have to post a bunch of links to those facts for my OPINION to have merit?

Here's another one; Obama is a liar. I can provide many facts to support this assertion, but why must I in order to make the comment I made?

I am always amused by the effort to resort to semantics so as to avoid the painful truths.

I can just as easily say that Dana is dishonest. It is an OPINION that can be supported by the facts but do I have to post a link in order to make the claim and have a valid argument?
And here are some of my opinions:

Republicans don't care about America. It can be substantiated by many facts, but why would I have to post a bunch of links to those facts for my OPINION to have merit?

Here's another one: Conservatives are more interested in controlling other people's opinions then allowing freedom. It can be substantiated by many facts, but why would I have to post a bunch of links to those facts for my OPINION to have merit?

One more: TD is dishonest. It can be substantiated by many facts, but why would I have to post a bunch of links to those facts for my OPINION to have merit?

It's good to know, TD, that you are uninterested in substantiating positions. We should all remember that when reading any of yours.

Actually, your true Conservatives were very good at admitting when they were wrong. Ronald Reagan is a prime example. Against all the advise from his advisors, he got on national TV and took the blame for Iran-Contra. Reagan was a stand up guy, and that was part of what made him great.

There was also something else about Ronald Reagan. He was gracious. He and Tip O'Neill, the most Liberal member of Congress, would duke it out during the day and, at the end of the day, they would sit down and have a beer together. Does anything like this exist today? Actually, yes. Orin Hatch, one of the most Conservative members of Congress, was a close friend of Edward Kennedy's. In fact, they both worked on quite a bit of legislation together, and enjoyed each others' company. And, as a matter of fact, when Kennedy was diagnosed with Cancer, Hatch cried on the Senate floor.

Says quite a bit about the sorry-assed, power at all costs, situation as it exists today, doesn't it?

I agree with you, dana. My post was a satire on the hyperpartisan crap I'm seeing from the other side. On both sides of the coin, it depends on the person and the level of extremism they exhibit. The more extreme, the more closed-minded and less likely anyone would see an admission of error.

If Texas seceded from the US, Austin would secede from Texas.
Obama would have to organize food drops and such.
I think it would be pretty cool.

Texas won't secede. Texans have no intention of pinning their future hopes for the state on a few crazies who came out of the woodwork.

Just warn us foreigners who are here from other states if it's going to happen.... I'll fly the coup
It's time for a revolution in our country. Not a revolution forged with guns and bombs but a revolution forged of compassion and altruism. A revolution that extends a hand to those who don't have and who cannot. A revolution that makes Health Care available to all those in the US.

This does not answer my question. Explain how an apple falling to the ground does not demonstrate gravity.

Can you only debate semantics? When you have something interesting to say, please come back.

It was YOU that said gravity was only an opinion. CC is merely asking you to explain yourself - You know - Crap or get off the pot.
