If it's "too easy" then please refute, that's all i've been asking for this whole time is a debate sheesh!

It took me all of 1 minute to refute your so-called "solid reason":

The trend persists when libs are in power, out of power, several years in, several years out... frustration over party politics seems to have little to do with happiness:

This may be your opinion, but it isn't presented in proper terms. There is no qualifier to show that these are your opinions. By all outward appearances you are making a blanket statement about all liberals. Not only that, but you have failed to explain what you mean by "regular people." Are you talking in generalized terms or just what you consider "regular people"? I realize that you are getting annoyed with people scrutinizing this stuff, but you need to be more articulate in the future so as to avoid confusion and so that you don't come off as a partisan hack.

If you have an alternative explanation for the data, please go ahead and make it. We don't bite (hard).

How so? Do you think the word of a psychologist is somehow infallible?

The data is unverifiable and there is no universally recognized standard for happiness, because it is a hypothetical construct(an idea or concept that has no physical properties). It doesn't lend itself to empirical data.

No, much of the universe does lend itself to empirical data.
