Sen. John McCain disagrees with former Vice President Dick Cheney’s claim that enhanced interrogation techniques helped keep the country safe.

“I think the interrogations were in violation of the Geneva Conventions and the convention against torture that we ratified under President Reagan,” McCain told CBS’ Bob Schieffer Sunday.

And John McCain is 100% right. And why wouldn't he know what he is talking about? Unlike Dick "5 Deferments" Cheney, who had better things to do than serve his country, McCain became a war hero, when he could easily have avoided service too. McCain has been there, and knows first hand what torture is.

Thank you, John McCain, not only for your service, but also for the integrity you just showed. This is the John McCain I remember. It looks like you have taken your life and political compass back, and I applaud you for it.

Article is here.

I agree Dana....its good to see John McCain becoming himself again.

McCain is a liberal commie terrorist loving closet homosexual European Muslim!

and on a serious note..

good to see him finally stand up to some one.

Disagrees? What does McCain's belief that it went against the geneva convention have anything to do with Cheney saying it kept us safe?

It's kinda like "McCain pushes back against Cheney's claims that broccoli is healthy, saying the food gives him gas and tastes "yucky"

McCain is the poster boy for torture.

The N Vietnamese succesfully forced him to do as they pleased, and I am sure under torture they got all the information about the uS military that McCain knew.

torture is needed and we are not causeing any permantate physical damage so let it stay to protect america

What evidence have you got that makes you so sure?

You have some evidence of this?

Anal rape of prisoners is fine. After all, gay people do it all the time. No permanent harm.

This is why McCain can't win an election trying to posture as a Conservative.

I have the same feelings for McCain I do for Spector; don't let the door his yer ass on the way out. :2wave:

My issue with McCain is he says that they broke the law and then in the next breath says they shouldn't be prosecuted. If that is the case, why have the law? I thought we were a country that was beholden to the law and not personal whim. What a joke.

That is because McCain is a dumbass as well. There is a reason the man hasn't won a Presidency in two tries. Thank God he is too old to try again; the man is an insufferable media hound like Biden and Spector and almost as dumb as Biden and Spector.
