Makes sense, but I could not let them go into the trash, so now I have one more thing I will never use in my barn.

There's a great amount of material goods that go to waste in the US that are perfectly usable.

Therefore, I say we rectify the situation by contract law. Those who know that their goods are safe will have no problem. Those who know their goods are possibly unsafe or are safe will not engage in resell. Thus we reduce the wastefulness while retaining good usable second hand products.

The CPSC--just one more agency that needs to be abolished.

The initiative, which targets toys and other products for children, enforces a new provision that makes it a crime to resell anything that's been recalled by its manufacturer.
    I don't have a problem with this.

If they were trying to tax garage sale monies, then I would have a problem.

You know, when looking at this after taking a break, is this really any different then basic laws now?

After all, I do recall it is a crime to sell a good as safe when it is not safe knowingly, that's misrepresentation of material facts and at certain levels fraud. And legal precedent does make it exceedingly clear that public notice in the form of newspaper ads at national levels and trade journals invalidates claims of ignorance regarding a product.

So someone at a garage sale selling something that has been publicly recalled is in violation independent of this law.

I would chat with her when I'm feeling particularly snarky, but I wouldn't ever call her on the phone.

Then you think it is OK to sell dangerous products ?
But, I agree, the safety nazis are going too far. .
And this has little to nothing to do with Liberals or Conservatives.

Intriguing idea, do they have any worth, or are they just an annoyance ?
I do not know..I do know that its is human nature to over-do things...hence "safety nazis".

People who sell ,not for profit, should not be subject to these laws.

    Ridiculous, totally insane.
If Lincoln logs are a threat, which they are not, then every toy given to babes is unsafe.
Is the government ready to ban toys to tots ??
The governments should stay out of this.
