Charlie Cook: Dem situation has 'slipped completely out of control' - The Scorecard - POLITICO.com

Charlie Cook, one of the best political handicappers in the business, sent out a special update to Cook Political Report subscribers Thursday that should send shivers down Democratic spines.

Reviewing recent polling and the 2010 election landscape, Cook can envision a scenario in which Democratic House losses could exceed 20 seats.

"These data confirm anecdotal evidence, and our own view, that the situation this summer has slipped completely out of control for President Obama and Congressional Democrats. Today, The Cook Political Report’s Congressional election model, based on individual races, is pointing toward a net Democratic loss of between six and 12 seats, but our sense, factoring in macro-political dynamics is that this is far too low," he wrote.
Oh my....if Charlie Cook is accurate (and I do so hope he is), the majority party is in the process of imploding faster than the bomb dropped on Nagasaki.

The 2010 elections might turn out to be fun yet! (Dare we hope? ;) )

With the Dems offering America this tripe,,,I'd say they'll lose more than Charlie's estimate.

Who are you again?

While talking about the 2010 elections is fun, I think it is hard to be anything like accurate at this point, since I think the economy at the time of the election will have a huge impact on the results, and no one knows what that is going to be like, despite many claims.

Welcome back by the way.

But we do know the mood of the Country right now. If you take the time to read the Story, you'll notice that 70% of the Independents aren't pleased.

B.O.'s Blown it,,,Big Time.

It's also 14 months till the election. The mood of the country now is relevant, but it's less relevant that the situation closer to election time. If the economy is good come this time next year, it could be a good year for democrats. If not, republicans will make significant gains. Right now, everything is just guesses, and mine is as good as yours which is as good as Charlie Cook's

If the truth be known,,,I'm more interested in America, than Parties. I'm not all that impressed with Republicans. But again, it comes down to the lesser of two Evils. With the silly twits "In Charge" of the Dems right now, they're toast as far as I'm concerned.
