Obama Ally: Dem Majority Is History If Health Reform Fails - The Note

Stern did not tie his 2010 prediction to the inclusion of a public option in the final bill. He did, however, warn that dropping a public option could "unravel" support for the more modest package of insurance reforms that President Obama began emphasizing last week.
How does this happen? The majority party must pass health care with a "public option" or their day is done? Health care for them is all or nothing?

So the SEIU will yank it's support for the majority party if health care is not done "just so"?

What the hell is going on here?

Well then it looks like they are sunk either way, because I would suggest that they are done like a christmas turkey IF this thing passes.

And why is a victory on Health Care something that will finish them?

Pay attention this time. If they get Obama care it will screw healthcare up, and every voting block will feel the effects, thus they will lose even more votes if they get it than the other way around.

Not sure if your complaining or not Cletic but the more they are divided the better it is for us.
Not complaining so much as not comprehending why the majority party must get its way or its done for. The rhetoric coming from the left is not that of people in command of a situation. It is not rhetoric of power but of weakness....and yet they hold all the cards. They can pass anything they want...and yet they are fearful of failure.

It is....fascinating.

I think the term you looking for is ego. They want to be the ones that "help" the people and no one else.

If they pass the current HR 3200 it won't be a victory, that's why. Only 1/4 of the public is supportive of that proposal and the majority of senior citizens, the largest voting block, as well as independents are staunchly against it. If they pass that bill they may hand over the House to the GOP next year.

It really amazes me how long some of you continue to ignore the writing on the wall. Only two years of controlling Congress and the Democrats have already surpassed the level of arrogance the Republicans had after 12.
