This would be funny, if it wasn't so damn sad. It's comments like this that make the sacrifice by our brothers and sisters in the Civil Rights Movement appear to have been in vain. What kind of asshole compares open dissent to congressional legislation to the Civil Rights Movement?

The Dems got their big chance and blew the hell out of it.

The third-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives on Thursday compared the disruptive protesters at recent health care town halls to people who unleashed dogs and spat on civil rights demonstrators during the 1960s.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Rep. James Clyburn, (D-S.C.), said that there was "absolutely" an analogy to be drawn between the horrid experience that he went through as a civil rights leader and the boisterous conservatives who have disrupted health care forums.

How would Clyburn know? He can't even stay awake long enough during the meetings to hear what people are saying.

Hmm lets see.

Today we have a bunch of people protesting in many different ways including violent and racist ways against a fundamental change in the US.

Then we had a bunch of mostly white people protesting in many different ways including violent and very racists ways against a fundamental change in the US..

Yea nothing similar there....

Except the violence is by the union hooligans called out by Dear Leader and the Anti-Republicans to squelch the protest. Also, it's not racist.

Then we had a bunch of mostly white people protesting in many different ways including violent and very racists ways against a fundamental change in the US..
The violence then was police using nightsticks and water cannon to squelch the protest.

Yea nothing similar there....
Only similarity is protesters getting beat down in an effort to silence them.

Difference this time is Clyburn's on the wrong side of the protest, and he's being all pissy and whiny about it.

Correction: it's no racism. Ya'll really need to stop with that, you're only making yourselves insinificant with those constant claims.

You're not even from here, so you don't know why those folks are protesting. It's American thing, you wouldn't understand.
