This is a real dog-n-pony show. Is this what the Dems are wanting townhall meetings to become? Also, this kinda goes against the religion hater faction of the Liberal movement. Could it be called a violation of the seperation of church and state? The Dems are making themselves into real laughing stocks.

GARDEN GROVE – About 300 people from throughout the county got together Sunday and prayed for affordable health care in a vigil that included Christian pastors and a public official.

The prayer vigil, held at St. Callistus Catholic Church, was about the national health-care reform package that is being debated now, but also about the loss of health care in California because of the state budget crisis.

In latino communities the parish church is the town hall. What would be ridiculous is a bunch of people from the rich section of town driving over to disrupt things. The congress woman said that there are 5 other reps. from Orange county, plenty of opportunity for jackassery should Orange county residents wish exercise their right to yell random insults and wild accusations in public.

I think you are pissed because it worked.

Oh, yeah, it worked. It was a very successful propaganda show.

This is a real dog-n-pony show.
I don't believe it is. From what I gather these folks are merely praying for the less fortunate people who desperately need affordable health care, something quite common in the religious community.

Is this what the Dems are wanting townhall meetings to become?
No. This seemed to be a prayer vigil, something not everyone is comfortable attending. I'm not aware of any Democrats advocating this type of setting. If you know of any Democratic lawmakers who are, quote them.

Also, this kinda goes against the religion hater faction of the Liberal movement. Could it be called a violation of the seperation of church and state? The Dems are making themselves into real laughing stocks.
I'm under the impression that you're more concerned with mocking religion than you are about what Democrats think.

Perhaps if they were in church, useing witchcraft to get the demons cast from their rightous souls it would be just fine.

Praying for uninsured people....for shame.

I'm a Christian and a liberal. Your caricature of liberals is disgusting and putrid. More lies and hatred from a conservative. When does it stop?

So, you're against praying? what is funny is you called then religion haters and yet they are the ones practicing religion and you are the one deriding them..... see the irony?

Townhall meetings can be whatever the person holding them wants them to be. Don't like it, I got two words for you: "boo hoo".

There is no significant "religion hater faction" withing the liberal movement.

No, it cannot be called a violation of the separation of church and state, not in any way. Please actually spend some time studying the concept before invoking it so wrongly again, you will not look so foolish.

You are right in that some one is making themselves into a real laughing stock, but it's not democrats.

Damn, that got you Libbos fired up. I musta hit a nerve.

Bottom, line, is the Libbos live by a double standard. This thread proves it.

You got a whole 6 posts(now 7) replying to you, and this is somehow getting "libbos fired up"? Don't give yourself that much credit, you are just an easy target, your arguments are so easy to tear apart, as has already been done here. Interestingly, you have not managed to(nor attempted to) counter a single "libbo" argument in this thread. Keep up the good work!

Really? again? someday you will let her go...... :doh:roll:

The projection from the right is astonishing.

:rofl

How do you not keel over dead from the toxic levels of hypocrisy coursing through you?

The depseration from the left is even moreso.

I'm not desperate. I pointed out your lack of ability to self-reflect. By deriding a religious event, you have made yourself the religion hater. Perhaps you should worry about your own response instead of projecting on others. I find it rather disingenuous and a lie to say one thing while doing that thing you deride. Problem is, you can't even admit you did it.

I will say this, I'm not desperate. I have no desperation in my posts nor my life. I find the accusation comes when people can't discuss a topic or be self-reflective. If you wanted to be truthful, you would have apologized and said, yes, I was the one hating religious activity.

Please, tell me how I am a hypocrite in regards to my Christianity? I'm waiting cuz I know you know my personal life. Also, you are the judge and juror of my soul, right? I think some reflection on Matthew 7 would do you some good. I am not judging people in regards to their religious devotion. Apdst has made the argument that one cannot be a religious individual and be liberal. I'm curious how he is able to judge one's soul, one's devotion to Christ, one's devotion to religious ideals. What is his expertise? What is yours? Can you see into people's souls? Can you hear the voice of God and know whom (s)he favors and doesn't or if God works in that manner at all? I think people who point their fingers at others in terms of religious issues need to worry about themselves more than the other person(s). It's simply something Christ said in Matt. 7. There are also Buddhist tenants along the same line, etc. But, again, please, answer the question: how am I a hypocrite in regards to my Christianity? Please, enlighten me.

I don't give a flying fig WHAT your religious beliefs are. The simple fact that YOU take it upon yourself to berate someone for caricaturing their political opponents ("disgusting and putrid," you call it) is screaming-out-loud hilarious.

I pointed out that the Dems are so desperate, that they are using the church as cover for a townhall meeting. It's a violation of church and state. Did anyone audit that priest's taxes? He's forfeitted his tax exempt status by being at that meeting.

Why is that? Because the person doing it said he was against one thing while doing another? I have spoken primarily about the OP and did not caricature conservatives in general in any of these posts. I was told I was a hypocrite and could not be religious in any real sense of the word. Just curious how those conclusions are reached.

So, no answer to my questions. I see. You have no ground to stand on then.

You really badly need to educate yourself on the whole "separation of church and state" thing. If a politician wants to hold a meeting in a church on their own time, that is perfectly legal.

Did I say you did, in these specific posts? You have hundreds of posts all over the board from which to draw. Straw. Man.

So, no answer to my questions. I see. You have no ground to stand on then.

I answered in the only manner necessary. If you continue to think I was calling your Christianity hypocritical, that's on you, not me. Brush up on reading comprehension.

So, you would say the same thing for every conservative that meets in a church with fellow church members, right? Rick Perry has done it. It was done all over Kentucky during the Kerry/Bush election. Please, spare me the mis-informed understanding of separation of church and state. I'm just curious if you are as angry at the right for doing this multiple times as you are about the people getting together to pray over health care reform? I think the real issue is that you don't like Christians backing a public option.

Are you just as outraged at these?

First Central Baptist Church Hosts Collaborative Events with Island?s Religious... - Staten Island, NY - AmericanTowns.com

You see, separation of church and state has to do with the state controlling what churches we go to. It has to do with the state being in control of our churches and our churches being in control of the state. Neither was done here. Information was given in order for the Christians to have a focus to pray about. Sorry dude, your anger is faux anger. More spittle and rage spewed over nothing.

In the context of the argument, I came to a fair conclusion about your position. If you can't argue within the context of the thread, that is not my problem.

To the extent that this is true, I also clarified what I meant, quite plainly and specifically.

If you can't argue within the context of the thread, that is not my problem.

I never claimed be arguing within the context of the thread and only this thread. This thread isn't in a vacuum. Perhaps you shouldn't be so limited in your thinking.

You're confusing 'getting riled up' with calling out idiocy.

The only thing the OP proves is the far-rights desperation. Also, I love how he doesn't have a clue about what goes on in ethnic communities.

Making fun of a prayer meeting?! Wow, what's next--grow your hair out and smoke some pot?
