TheHill.com - Left is miffed at Pelosi over her comment
In a session with reporters before leaving for the August recess, Pelosi said, “Are you asking me are progressives going to vote against universal, quality, affordable healthcare for all Americans? No way.” Her directness elicited laughter in the room.

Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-Calif.), co-chairwoman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, on Monday expressed outrage at the comments and said her group is being “laughed at.”

Woolsey is the author of a letter signed by 60 fellow House liberals vowing to vote against a deal cut with the Blue Dogs. Liberals feel the bill weakens the “public option,” the group’s signature issue in the healthcare debate.

“It didn’t take us very seriously,” Woolsey said. “She may be overlooking the strength behind the 60, and there are more who are absolutely committed to a robust public option.”
Pelosi seems to be doing a grand job of attacking everyone within her own party. She has a strange idea of the meanings behind words like "friend" and "enemy."

Is she that blinded by being Speaker that she looks down on everybody?

She said that they would not vote against quality health care for all Americans. Apparently, that is not what is in the Blue Dog water bill. We need to go around the bought and paid for BD's and do this right. She overstepped her bounds on that comment. I'm no Pelosi fan by the way. I think she says things and then puts her foot in her mouth too much.

Your math does not work out.

There are some 57 Blue Dogs. There are 60 in the Progressive Caucus. Either group is larger than the size of the majority the Anti-Republicans have in the House of Representatives.

Pelosi needs all of both groups, or she cannot move any legislation forward.

The "big tent" of the Anti-Republicans is not a "tent" at all, merely a collection of shelter-halfs--they are a coalition party, and have been for most of the last four decades. It explains their ability to aggregate nominal majorities in the Congress, and their seeming inability to do anything with those majorities once they have them. In Congress, the are MINO--Majority In Name Only.

Not all the dawgs are unified either. There are many that will back the legislation without the compromise.

What I love about the Democratic party is its diversity. This idea that all in a party need to think alike is bogus. Do I like the Dawgs that are being obstructionists, no. I don't. I think they are Republicans in disguise. That said, they are still part of the caucus.

But, this aversion to diversity is the very reason the Republicans are dying out. They refuse to see beyond their old white person mentality and seek diversity.

But, yes, it does cause issues when it comes to getting something passed via one party vote.

Not at all. A robust political party will articulate certain bedrock principles. A person who disbelieves in those bedrock principles should not affiliate with such a party, because he is being fundamentally dishonest by so doing.

The Anti-Republicans have dispensed with bedrock principles in blind pursuit of a nominal majority in the Congress. As a result, they have groups that must pretend friendship when each group's bedrock principles are at odds with each other. The incoherent and inchoate legislation that is the signature attribute of this session of Congress is a direct consequence of this political schizophrenia.

Even though I'm not a Extreme Leftist Socialist Liberal (ELSL) I wouldn't vote against universal, quality, affordable health care. But that's not what the Obama I Don't Care About Your Health Care Kill Granny Plan represents.
It represents the exact the opposite.
So she knows she faces little chance of contradiction.

Oh please dear God, let her do this actually and then swallow it and put us all out of our misery.
