The Hill’s Blog Briefing Room Waters blames Rahm for recalcitrant Dems on healthcare

Maxine Waters blames Rahm Emanuel for the failure of Obama's health care reform, says he recruited too many centrists when he was chair of DCCC, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Yesterday, democratic congressman Gene Green of Houston put the onus on Speaker Pelosi, pointing to her strategical error in pushing cap and trade before bringing up health care reform.

Whereas Ms Waters may be happier with a lower parliament containing a stronger GOP delegation, it's hard to see how a redder house would advance the ambitions of Pelosi/Obama.

Congressman Green, on the other hand, and others who echoed his criticism are spot on. The first chink in the credibility of Pelosi/Obama was the widely perceived failure of the stimulus to stimulate.

Cap and trade was the last straw.

The Green story was all over cable news yesterday. Unfortunately, it is not in print. I can't find a link.

Minority leader Boehner, however, chimed in on the tactical error that was prioritizing cap and trade over health care. Boehner said, "There are some members on the Democrat side that got both arms broken during the cap-and-trade fight on the floor, now there're no more arms to break. That's why they're having problems."

The White House may only have one of its top officials to blame for its difficulty in passing healthcare, one liberal California Democrat asserted Tuesday.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) blamed now-White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel's work as head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), during which he worked to recruit many centrist candidates, resulting in landslide Democratic victories, for difficulties facing House leaders trying to pass reform legislation.

"That may be difficult for Rahm Emanuel, because remember, he recruited most of them," Waters said during an interview on MSNBC when asked if the White House could lean on centrist, Blue Dog Democrats to pass reform legislation.

"Now the chickens have come home to roost," she added.

Waters said that the Congressional Progressive Caucus wouldn't organize candidates to run against the recalcitrant Democrats on healthcare, she could understand why those lawmakers might face primary challenges.

Another liberal genius who can't figure out why so many Americans oppose such socialistic, misguided legislation. She doesn't have a clue!

and look at the PREMISE

explaining away the FAILURE

Why does she blame Rahm and not PBO?

good question, it's pretty much the same thing

rahm is chief of staff, true?

the point is---they're blaming, both maxine and mr green

1. they're fighting amongst themselves

2. they're admitting to failure

there's nothing to blame, no reason to blame, absent failure in the first place

losers always blame, it's human nature

the party in power is losing, that's the underlying premise

it's cuz leadership doesn't know what it's doing

oh well

thanks, apdst

Under stress, rats will turn cannibal.

I leave it to the Gentle Reader to draw what conclusions they will from that.

I wonder if Waters got her dead fish in the mail yet?

Can't believe they even allow Maxine air time.

If that were true which it clearly is not we'd be owning Emanuel a beer at the White House.
Maxine Waters has always amazed me by just being in Congress she is obviously one of the least intelligent members in history. If they wanted to easily past this plan they would have had to hide it's contents completely as was done with the Patriot Act. If you haven't got a copy to check it out.

Pretty sad when the Anti-Republicans have to blame each other for their manifold shortcomings--sad for them, anyway, but highly entertaining for that majority of Americans who recognize what idiots the lunatic liberals really are.
