House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is one of the most despised political figures in the country.

And, frankly, she doesn’t give a damn.

“No, I don’t care,” Pelosi told POLITICO last Thursday, laughing heartily as she walked beneath the Capitol dome and plunged into a crowd of tourists.

Last week’s Public Strategies Inc./POLITICO poll brought grim news for Pelosi, revealing that only a quarter of Americans trust the San Francisco Democrat — putting her in the basement with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio).

Mention of the “trust” question halted the click-clack of Pelosi’s heels against Rotunda marble, and she turned to face the reporter who posed the question.

“I don’t know about ‘trust’ — I think I’m trusted,” she said.

“I certainly want to be trusted. I’m not particularly concerned if I’m liked.”

Unpopular? Hell that's being generous to one of the charter members of the Anti American Axis of Evil consisting of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid.
If the is any just in this world this will lead to her being removed from office. But with her getting millions of dollars for her district to fight to save a mouse that is nothing more than a pest.
She completely useless and is an embarrassment to me as a Native Californian who was once proud to say that. Now with low lifes Pelosi, Boxer, and Feinstein the Bad, Stupid and the Ugly, in no particular order because all three fit all three descriptions, California is turning into a lousy place to live because the Granola Liberal mental illness has rubbed off these to and a=on to all of the State Assembly idiots and even the Governator who is a major RINO.

Why should she care? Ultimately, she is only accountable to the members of her district. As long as she wins re-election, and as long as the Democrats have the majority, why should she care what Americans think of her.

This nation has but one elected official representative of the entire electorate--that official is the President of the United States. He has to care what all Americans think of him.

Dear Leader has to worry about popularity polls. Queen Nancy does not.
 
Nancy is only accountable in her district and to the other Democratic members of Congress, not to the General population. Although the Democrats are verging on repeating history and allowing the Repubs to gain back seats which is fine by me.
 
I never figured that Nancy Pelosi cared much about what people thought of her. She always came across like she thought she's the greatest mind to come out of this country.

You are correct but their actions say it loud and clear. To remain the worst most hated speak Nasty Piglousy needs her Messiah in Chief Obama to be popular through the midterm elections and she also could face removal if her foolish statements, dishonesty and lack of popularity begin to hurt the Granola Liberal agenda. What ever that is other than to help the Muslim/Kenyan in Chief Obama destroy America, which is clearly what he wants, based on his promise.

She's been elected, repeatedly, in the most liberal section of the United States. How exactly do you expect her to act?

Her district likes her. What else does she need?

This would be like some stupid yankee from New Yawk criticizing my representative, Alan Boyd, for being a member of the blue dogs. F that noise.
 
Nothing matters less than what America thinks of her. She represents her district. They like her. End of story.
 
The only popularity contest Pelosi needs to be concerned with is within her own party, and her constituents. If she is doing her duties efficiently, public opinion of her shouldn't faze her in the least, much to the dismay of her critics I suppose.

From what I have observed she's knows how to twist arms to get results, and seems to be doing a good job of pushing the Democrats agenda though the House.

Ok, I can accept that. It needs to stabilize on the way back up. I have no problem with that and think we are moving in the right direction. :)

You know, the economy had stabilized by 1932. Stabilization isn't exactly a great thing.
 
I suppose if Mrs. Pelosi were a weaker person she would let these attacks bother her and quit.

Actually home buying and the stock market are on the rise.

The stimulus money is now filtering out throught the states, so in 6-12 months we should have a much better understanding on how much Obama's recovery pkg has worked.

That home buying is due to government incentives, not because people can afford and are willing to buy houses. All of the numbers that the government is not fudging with are merely stabilizing.
