Typical. The "rush" stimulus that NEEDED to be passed without time for debate, or reading, can't be held as a failure for not helping the economy in the short term because it wasn't spent fast enough. Let's just revert to saying that it's effects will be seen in a year or two, in other words, around when the economy would start to recover naturally.

In other news, I completed a special dance last week. let it be known, everybody, that if anybody gets rain within the next year or so that it was because of my dance. No thanks necessary.

I have been hearing for weeks that only 10% of the stimulus money has been spent so far and reports of stupid projects like Pelosi's district receiving millions to save a G.D. mouse that add nothing to the economy as a whole. The majority of the money is being held back to use for buying votes in future elections. People were saying housing sales up. No they weren't when compared to last year and the sales that did take place were because prices have fallen so damn far. So far the stimulus billions is not helping a damn thing. Pelosi is hated because she's a phony and a liar just like Obama. His poularity numbers a crumbling 42% now say Obama's health Care is a Bad idea 36% favor it. And the trend is going down. His over all numbers are tanking too and hopefully will match Pelosi's sooner rather than later. People are starting to learn that Obama has been saying one thing and doing another from the start.

Let's assume for the moment that what you cite about home buying and stock market activity is indicative of recovery.

Let's also assume also that the "stimulus" finds are now "filtering out" to the states.

That means that the stimulus money is getting spent when the economy is already on the upswing--which is the worst time to have artificial "stimulus" spending by government. In order to be effective without producing rampant and destructive inflation, any stimulus-oriented spending by government must occur when the economy is in the contractionary phase--to halt/slow the contraction.

If your take on the economy is correct, then Dear Leader's "stimulus" program has already failed, and will now wreak inflationary havoc on the economy.
