WikiLeaks Slams Trump, Urges Hackers To Reveal His Tax Returns

What the hell does Trump's knowledge of the tax code have to do with your false claim that Romney released his tax returns after the election?

Nothing. It's just something good to know about our President. It's a pretty strong plus when it comes to him understanding how taxes affect business and industry.

All that's true, and I'd be shocked if his audits do not routinely result in adjustments because IRS and taxpayers disagree all the time about how to handle certain items - nothing nefarious, just how it works.

What I can't figure out is how the potential for an IRS adjustment means he shouldn't release his tax returns. IRS proposes 19 adjustments after audit? OK, so what?

Because any adjustment that is made that goes in the government's favor will be blown out of all proportion by people like you and others who will use any insignificant fact like that to accuse and blame him for days. And it would go on the dishonest lists of "Trump's lies" for sure.

So... the two aren't comparable situations... because one did it months ahead of an election, the other hasn't... but you felt it necessary to bring it in?

Well, I would have waited for you to do that, but I don't think I have that long left to live.

Okay, so then we're both in accordance that this:

Yes he did release at least one--or maybe two years--AFTER intense criticism and ridicule was heaped on him when he announced he would release his returns after the election.

Is false... yes? It's just an 'alternative facts' and not necessarily an objective one.

'Perhaps in an attempt to demonstrate its impartiality, on Sunday WikiLeaks tweeted a request to worldwide hackers to release President Donald Trump’s tax returns after counselor Kellyanne Conway told ABC Trump will not be releasing the controversial files after all. The whistleblower site, which was blasted during the US election campaign for only releasing material damaging to the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, tweeted the request with a link to its submission page.'

It's really funny that Wikileaks likely helped Trump get elected, and now they are going after him. I guess they know how to stay relevant.

So....now Trump will not even release his tax returns.

Well DUH...I figured he would do this. It was obvious.

He clearly had never any intention of releasing them...he just stalled and stalled until he won the election.

Trump claims he is worth $10 billion?

I say he is full of ****.

And to all his disciples that claim otherwise? Save it.

Without proof...the claim MEANS NOTHING.

Good for WikiLeaks...go after the fat, p***y grabbing, faux POTUS.

I am not surprised he is not releasing his tax returns either. I kind of expected him to be dishonest.

This is ironically funny.

Yeah, the whistle-blowing entity that helped him get into office is now trying to shine the light on what he might be hiding in his federal tax returns. And if it's what many people suspect, it could bring him down.

"The one giveth, the one taketh away."

Yeah, right now those have to be the most valuable tax returns on earth!

Sad, but unfortunately probably true!

Not exactly except that I didn't remember it exactly like it was. He intended to delay releasing his tax returns until April by which time he hoped to have the nomination sewed up. Which he did. I inferred general election but it was actually the primary election.

I'm actually kind of surprised they haven't been leaked. I mean, how many employees at the IRS do you think have access to the return?

More than likely they will be leaked. Romney's were leaked.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was never under audit to begin with. It seems like a convenient lie.

Can the IRS come out and publicly disavow such a statement if false? Genuinely curious.

In any case, Trump will tell whatever lie is most convenient to him, being a malignant narcissist and all. He's already lied before about showing his tax returns if Obama released his birth certificate. Two facts:

1) Anybody who believes a word Trump says is a bloody fool. He doesn't say what's true, he simply says the immediate thing that he believes protects himself or grows his own power.
2) Nobody is seeing those tax returns short of a Wikileak. Period.

Oh NOW wikileaks is starting to get a little harsher on Trump! Now that Assange has Putin's Puppet right where those two want him.

The thing to remember about Assange is that he's insane. He was focused on punishing Clinton for colluding with the DNC to prevent Bernie from winning. With Clinton out of the way, he's now focused his sights on Trump. Anybody who thought he was pro Trump really didn't read the man very well.

If you do taxes for a living then you certainly know why he would not release his tax returns as long as he is being audited. If the audit is completed at some point he may decide to release his tax returns.

I don't, actually. There is nothing sacred about the audit process, or anything unusual about a return being audited and adjustments proposed/accepted.

Meanwhile Kellyanne is right that most of us who voted for him don't care one way or the other. So long as he complies with the law with full financial disclosure, and he has, any conflicts of interest will be apparent as we go along. He had no conflict prior to the election because he had never run for political office. And his prior returns will have absolutely nothing to do with any conflict of interest he might have now.

We elected Trump to turn things around, get the country back on track, pointed in the right direction, and start the very long tedious process of draining the swamp. If he accomplishes any of that, he has fulfilled his Presidential responsibilities.

He has more important things to do than satisfy the curiosity of people who will nitpick, blame, and accuse him no matter what is in those returns.

Of course his supporters don't care, not even that he lied about his plans to release the return, but he's actually the President of the country now.

I guess we just disagree. I'm a big fan of transparency, and Trump supporters don't care. More than anything, I don't like the precedent that's being sent - that we're now supposed to ignore potentially massive conflicts of interest of our POTUS. Trump's response is, roughly, "I'm the law."

Very interesting. I hadn't thought of him that way.

Here's the thing about Assange: He's wanted in Sweden for rape charges, OK? So, if he really were this poor little framed kid, then he should have the first flight available back to Stockholm, taken the witness stand as soon as possible, and said in no uncertain terms to the court, "No, I did not rape those girls." Earn his acquittal, and then be done with it.

The fact that he has steadfastly refused to do this speaks volume about his potential guilt.

So the cases aren't comparable.

At all.

Who cares about leaks? You guys love leaks. Leaks helped to give you a Trump Presidency.

Yep, it use to be the Republicans loved the plumbers; now they prefer the leaks..

I think you can take that to bank. Not to mention, it doesn't matter if the return is under audit. That was nothing but a "buy some time till they forget about it smoke screen"

I sure wouldn't want you doing my taxes with that attitude. But whatever floats your boat.

There is no strong precedent for releasing tax returns. Eight presidents have done so. Thirty seven have not. And all the eight who did so were career politicians who weren't exposing a lot of innocent people by releasing their tax returns. Now that we have people with business background instead of political class backgrounds throwing their hats into the ring, we may need a different system.

Kellyanne said Trump won't make his returns public because his supporters don't care. Trump hasn't said that himself. And even if he did, that doesn't mean he won't make them available to people who need to see them for conflict of interest purposes. But understanding how hateful and dishonest the media and anti-Trump people would make those tax returns the only headlines for days, weeks, months when the President is trying to get his administration fully mobilized and working for all of us, I don't blame him for not making them public.

I didn't blame Obama for the long secrecy re his birth certificate, college records, etc. either. He was the duly elected President of the United States and all of that stuff no longer mattered and just would have been further fuel for the Obama haters.

Which issue do you want to talk about, Wikileaks, Trumps tax returns, Trump grabbing ***** or how much Trump is worth? Want to discuss Benghazi or Clinton's emails or the new satellite that NASA just launched while we are at it? You derailed your own thread in two posts.

Do any honest hard working citizens care?

How will someone hack the thousands of papers. I isn't gong t be an online filing...

I isn't a simple 20 or so page return like the Clinton's had. It's several thousand pages.
