Fox hoped Tucker Carlson could live up to Megyn Kelly's popularity.

I think consideration of timing and events that could be influencing those numbers must be made.

These self important journalists are annoying to me, and I'm not glued to Fox News, but on the occasions I have seen both at work, I have a better feeling with Carlson than I did with Kelly. One seems more genuine than the other.

They don't need to be what they were for FOX. She just needs to increase their ratings.

You have a point there. I didn't think of it from that perspective. It will be interesting to see how it works out.
 
I don't know how long Carlson can last at these high ratings. Could be lookey loos just seeing how it works. His ratings are likely to go down.

The Alt-right people seem to be really pushing his clips on youtube. Which would likely explain the much higher numbers in the younger demographics. If he keeps up his current style he will likely keep fairly good numbers.

He has. a better show than Kelly had

If I recall Tucker's initial reaction to trump was negative

But he is far more humble and open minded today

Most every response in this thread is Trump-driven, whether from the right OR the left.

It was barely over a year ago when the left routinely mocked Kelly as a dim-bulb bimbo and had no end of fun over things like "Santa is white." Now that she's had her spars with Trump, she's A-OK.

The converse is also true -- she was a right-wing superheroine until she got into it with Trump.

Meh, the debut and the President Trump inauguration probably helped give him a jump. It'll be more meaningful to me if they manage to keep those viewers.
