Protestors Dressed as Hooded Klansmen Crash Jeff Sessions’ Confirmation Hearing

The guy that torpedoed Session's judge confirmation was in 1986 not 1988. He was an assistant U.S. atty by the name of Thomas Figures.

Turns out Mr. Figures wasn't wrapped too tight. According to some sworn statements by his former colleagues, guess he thought Dan Rather was communicating with him through his TV.

And later after Mr. Figures, a Democrat, trashed Mr. Sessions at his hearing, he was later indicted by federal authorities for attempting to bribe a witness.

The Star Witness On Sessions' 'Racism' Has Troubled History | The Daily Caller

You forgot to mention that Mr. Figures was Black and found innocent of bribing a witness...

"...The case was handled by special prosecutors from the Department of Justice, and built mostly around the testimony of one informant, John Christopher, who was trying to get his life sentence reduced. The lead Drug Enforcement Agency investigator, another key prosecution witness, admitted on the stand to heavily coaching Christopher in preparation for his testimony.
Figures, who called the prosecution “vindictive and discriminatory,” was found innocent of the single charge against him in March of 1993...."

There's not enough will amongst the voters for that. You'd have to have the this past election on steroid with Dem voters also wanting change added on. That's not going to happen as long as there's a gravy train party like the Dems around.
Oh, I know the Dems are doomed as the Party they are today, they have always been a loosely connected group. Just as I know that the GOP is doomed in its current configuration, there is going to be a parting of ways, so to speak. Trump just sped up the process, and as far as I am concerned I am glad, I am a "just rip it off and get it over type", cannot move forward until one moves out of the present mess. Should be interesting to see,

Oh I don't know, it might still be a bit early to tell.

It seems Senator Byrd has risen from the dead!!!

The reincarnation of Senator Byrd was accompanied by a parade of losers... Quite the show... would give Barnum & Bailey a run for their money.

... if the Left only knew what they were doing they'd cut it out... but... they don't... and well... it's fun to watch unassisted political suicide.

To think, this is just the beginning of Eight Years of Insanity on display.

A perfect example of what I just said.

Whether or not intentional, it forms a great shield for actual racists. Now they can behave in as ugly manner as they want, and if anyone speaks up, a sizeable chunk of conservatives will rush to their defense with knee-jerk cries of "race card!", etc.

It is actually you guys on the left that provide 'the great shield for actual racists' by using the charge as a political weapon to demonize your political opponents. It is you who cheapen the charge through its overuse. What conservatives do is call out these bull**** liberal accusations for what they are.

You mean Ronald Reagan who appointed Sessions to a federal judgeship? The American Bar Association deemed Sessions qualified for the position. Democrats back then hatched a plan to smear Republican nominees, just like they're doing now. Reagan THEN pulled the nomination, so Democrat are trying the same playbook, which I predict they'll use on all the nominees.
Except...thanks to Harry Reid...the rats cant win this time. Their incessant shrieks of 'racist' will make great campaign fodder...but little more.

Its comical. Corey Booker...the guy that CO AUTHORED and CO SIGNED civil rights legislation WITH Jeff Sessions has said he will speak against him based on some form of principle....but when pressed for WHY....he typically couldnt come up with an actual, FACTUAL reason.

First of all who the hell let them in there? Second of all I'll admit that the "you can't arrest me I'm white," crack had me laughing my ass off even Sessions looked like he was about to start cracking up.

Good question about how they got in there... some Demokrat must have got them in.

I thank that Demokrat and all others for their circus act. It reflects badly on their party.

I saw one during the Tillerson hearing... some demented soul screaming "don't put Exxon in charge of the State Dept."... that one had me howling.
