'The farce is complete.

One week after a joint FBI/DHS report was released, supposedly meant to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Russia intervened in the US presidential election, and thus served as a diplomatic basis for Obama's expulsion of 35 diplomats, yet which merely confirmed that a Ukrainian piece of malware which could be purchased by anyone, was responsible for spoofing various email accounts including that of the DNC and John Podesta, moments ago US intelligence agencies released a more "authoritative", 25-page report, titled "Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent US Elections", and which not surprisingly only serves to validate the media narrative, by concluding that Russian President Vladimir Putin 'ordered' an effort to influence U.S. presidential election.

Specifically, the report concludes the following:

We assess Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election. Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency. We further assess Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump.

I'm pretty sure that the Russians did attempt to influence the US election, but then again many countries have done this, including our own, so its nothing new. The game is always being played, its just the players change from time to time.

On the other hand, the dems have no one to blame but themselves for the hacked emails- their IT manager ought to be fired for gross incompetence.

The one thing people seem to have forgotten, (or hope get's forgotten) in all this hoopla about Russia hacking to help Trump?

That Hillary used a private server system back when she was Secretary of State and the FBI report indicated that even though they did not find direct evidence of hacking of Hillary's server, it was highly likely foreign agencies hacked people she corresponded with while using them, and it was possible her system was hacked too.

Clinton “used her personal email extensively while outside of the United States,” FBI Director James B. Comey said, including “in the territory of sophisticated adversaries.”

It was “possible” that they accessed her account, he said. But “given the nature of the system and the actors potentially involved, we assess we would be unlikely to see such direct evidence.”

I think this should remain a point of some concern since that would have entailed actual harmful spying attempts, as opposed to simple election influencing attempts via posting TRUE email hacks.

I have linked hillarys private server to the dnc email hack many times and leftwingers refuse to even think about it.

At least the rest of us know what is going on

Hillary should be in jail and obama impeached for dereliction of duty

Yes, the farce is complete, I hope.

The media and spy agencies are describing their version of the Emperor's New Clothes. He is actually butt nekkid', but the agencies and media are describing his nonexistent clothes. What a joke we have become.

It would have helped the argument had Obama and his VP not used their office as a platform to influenced the election.

Is your evidence better than that of the US intel community?

Is your evidence better than that of the US intel community?

My evidence of hillary furnishing classifed informstion to the russians?

As good as obama claiming the russians tilted the election to trump

It is quite impossible to believe the russians would ignore her emsil server and not hack it

I'm not sure why the OP sourced a Zero Hedge review of the report. It isn't a long report.Report

Keep in mind that we only have access to the declassified findings. It's a good read, but it is missing the smoking gun I think a lot of non-believers are looking for.

Edit: Nevermind, I see that they just chose to post the review portion. I saw the report under a picture of Putin eating popcorn on the Zero Hedge page.

It would only make sense, but if that is the case and they got in by here email server that means
that she is grossly negligent in the handling of information.

Other high level security companies are saying the same thing.
the report makes a ton of assumption with little evidence to support it.

Proof is not possible

There are no fingerprints or dna samples left behind by the hackers

Either you believe the intel flunkies working for obama or you dont

That's what makes this stuff so interesting. They basically have to just continue to collect information on how the Russian propaganda machine is expanding over time. According to the report there was a real effort to push propaganda harder than they have seen before. They see the hacks as consistent with current information about how Russian hackers operate. I think people expect a smoking gun, which never really happens in situations like this, and so it is a let down when nobody finds the one "magic" computer with Putin's fingerprint on it. Putin was KGB, and when he came out and challenged the United States to find evidence he knew what he was doing. The best we can do is continue to gather information and show that it is consistent with how Russia has been operating. We don't know what was in the classified report, but judging by this I don't think Trump will be swayed.

Umm, yes it possible, if you knew more about writing Code you would know that there are styles and sequencing that are common among groups that learned their trade in the same areas. The little things can tell you a lot about who wrote a Code.

I believe the FBI, CIA, and NSA over something trump said, and by the way now he is admitting we were hacked but that there is no evidence it effected the election, so much for trumps input.

What concerns me, and should concern you, is not hacking into emails or attempting to effect the election, but that they are also trying to hack into our power grid. Now why would someone in Russia want to do that, just for grins or because you might want to use as a first strike weapon, shutting down our grid for a long period of time using software is equivalent to setting off EMP devices above the country to put us back in the dark ages and hence neutralized. That should concern any Real American.

What proof is there? Sadly, again, none. However, as the intelligence agencies state, "We have high confidence in these judgments"... just like they had high confidence that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

And while the report is severely lacking in any evidence, it is rich in judgments, such as the following:

We assess Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election. Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency. We further assess Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump. We have high confidence in these judgments.
We also assess Putin and the Russian Government aspired to help President-elect Trump’s election chances when possible by discrediting Secretary Clinton and publicly contrasting her unfavorably to him. All three agencies agree with this judgment.
At this point a quick detour, because the intel agencies responsible for drafting the report then explain how "confident" they are: "CIA and FBI have high confidence in this judgment; NSA has moderate confidence."

What do these distinctions mean?

High confidence generally indicates judgments based on high-quality information, and/or the nature of the issue makes it possible to render a solid judgment. However, high confidence judgments still carry a risk of being wrong.
Moderate confidence generally means credibly sourced and plausible information, but not of sufficient quality or corroboration to warrant a higher level of confidence.
In other words, while not carrying the infamous DHS disclaimer according to which last week's entire joint FBI/DHS report is likely garbage, the US intel agencies admit they may well be "wrong."'

I think the Russians would have to be complete fools not to try to influence the election. On the one hand, we have the WarMonger, WarHawk Hillary Clinton disparaging Russia at every turn and creating blocks to all avenues of diplomacy. On the other, Trump saying he'll change the MidEast embroglios and will talk to Putin because he thinks the mans is a good leader and a potential ally. What're we gonna' do says Russia? Does a cat have an ass? Not rocket science. Is there anything we can do to help this guy who seems to want peace and diplomacy?

I'm thinking this way.

If all this is true, and Putin commanded his people do their thing against Hillary, the why becomes the question.

Hillary is a globalist sell out, more interested in following the globalists trying to control the world through the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. This globalist cabal represents a threat to Russia, or any other country not willing to bow to the economic demands of the globalists attempting this one world government agenda. If successful, and the One World Government gets fully assembled, as it would with Hillary as President, Russia is at the mercy of this group.

Trump does not appear to be interested in surrendering the United States to these shadowy figures running the WEF. Makes sense to push Trump then.

Styles and methods cannot be imitated to hide the true identity of the perp?

Do you think hackers are not aware of those tendencies in themselves?

shrug...

According to that report, RT was instrumental in influencing our election...in 2012.

Big deal. Obama still won.

Most cannot avoid using code that has served them well in the past, even smart people make mistakes and we have smarter people to find them. If we were talking about getting into a cyber war the US would win hands down, but the odds are any future war fought with sophisticated Nations will include both Physical and Cyber Warfare.

Trump supporters are no longer interested in engaging with reality. You've gone completely delusional and, frankly, traitorous.

Are you talking about using ukrainian code freely available to the entire world?????? Because that is what the intel agencies have already used as their definitive proof of russian meddling, malware used worldwide in every country and not even produced in russia.

My evidence of hillary furnishing classifed informstion to the russians?

The Russians also hacked other people and organizations including members of the GOP and maybe the RNC itself. However the Russians were mining for Hillary related information, which they found and made available to wikileaks. The Russians did not release information regarding the GOP accounts they hacked.

Yes, Hillary & Company made the work very easy for the Russian hackers but compared to what? We don't know what else they have. Do they have dirty pictures on Trump? Maybe but they purposely did not release them.

I did not read through all the replies, so I do not know if this has already been brought up;
If Vladimir Putin did in fact successfully influence the election and hack Clinton's emails, that doesn't at all do away with the 'dirt' that can be found in Hillary Clinton's emails, (I myself have never read the emails or heard anything about any dirt in them, so if someone wants to give me the down-load on that so I can be a bit more 'with it', that would be appreciated). Because of this, I don't think it's right to belittle or dismiss people with concerns about the content revealed by her emails.

Now let's say that Hilary's emails do not have anything incriminating about them; I am concerned about this announcement itself. What this move by, (the CIA, right?) feels like is a leader who has expressed great concern over the survival of his legacy leveraging an Intelligence Agency, (not the military, nor the cool top-secret ultra-professional idealistic attractive people club of movies, but an information conglomerate), - a leader leveraging an intelligence group with great authority lended to it by Hollywood to, in what can only be described as death throes, (or is it throws?), a somewhat lame strike at the new leaders' legitimacy.

That being said, I hate Putin's face, and so his apparent favor for Trump is unwelcome. I do like that Putin likes whats happening in the U.S. right now.

What I find interesting is that neither the FBI, CIA or NSA has had access to the DNC server to do any type of investigation. How do they know who did what without investigating the forensics on the server that was hacked? It doesn't add up.

I hope the Trump supporters realize that the Republicans are going after Trump for treason. If you watch the senate hearing its all too obvious.

The only way that Trump could be impeached for Treason is if there was evidence of him and Putin colluding. Even that 25 page report admits that there is no evidence of such. So it doesn't matter if they are trying to go after Trump for treason because there is no evidence of such. If that is what they are doing and continue to try and do so then it just shows them to be idiots.
