Obama under pressure to prove Russian interference in election

Obama under pressure to prove Russian interference in election | TheHill

Looks like Russia is putting the screws to the Obama bull**** claims system of doing business. I find that amusing as hell.
Yes, by... closing a school near Moscow?

While it may seem to make sense to publish all the information, it really doesn't. Most of the public won't pay attention, and it runs the very real risk of exposing intelligence methods and sources. That doesn't seem particularly wise.

Perhaps, but we have a president who lied about Benghazi being the result of a video for political reasons. Is he lying now? If he has evidence that Putin, himself, was involved then he should lay it out there. If he cant, then he should just shut up and stop pretending like he hasn't ordered the hacking of Russian officials. Hell, he hacked Merkel. The idea that this sort of thing is somehow new is laughable. Democrats lost and they just cant accept it.

I'm an old man, I remember the Cold War, the USSR, all the satellite wars between 'us and them', etc. and now Putin is trying to bring back the old USSR and the Russian dictatorships.

So never in my life I thought I'd see the day when Conservatives especially would be excusing and defending anything, or anyone Russian. I remember when some Liberals would defend Russia the Cons would call them commies, and traitors and pinkos. lol Now because of politics it's all changed.

My God!! How far the Conservatives in this country have fallen. Even if it means defending a butcher like Putin their ideology now is nothing more than to hate anything and anyone that's not conservative.

It's truly pathetic isn't it.

No, Pelosi meeting and praising Assad was pathetic. Questioning Obamas veracity is one of the most rational things a person can do.

So you side with Putin against your own intelligence community. Such a patriot!

I would rather know when and how the US government is going to catch up to our enemies at cyber war

This is embarraing and obama should be ashamed to admit he is so incompetent at protecting our secrets

Catchup begins on Jan. 21, 2017.

Obama has no shame. The past 8-years has provided ample proof

Russia messed with our election supposedly....ok...how?

Exactly how did they do so?

Did they stuff ballot boxes?

Did they mess with polling stations?

Did they have agents in precincts changing votes from Clinton to Trump?

Exactly how did they mess with our elections....

I have yet to see any real answer to that question yet....maybe I never will

As a conservative, i am hard pressed to believe a lot of the lies perpetrated for politics....we have seen whoppers told before

So what do we believe now?

Is Trump in bed with Putin? And if so, how?

Or is this just sour grapes from the dnc who lost a supposedly unloseable race to a buffoon?

Do foreign states mess with elections of other governments?

Have we? It would be naive for me to think we had never tried to play kingmaker in other parts of the world

I don't know what to believe right now....but the one major thing lacking in all of this is proof.....

I sure could use some of it

Quite right, I'd say. After all . . . .

Obama administration prepares sanctions, retaliation for Russian election meddling

Obama Said to Ready Sanctions on Russian Officials for Hacking

And I have yet to hear of some sort of presentation to the foreign intelligence committee which should oversee this issues / topic.

It'd be pretty ****ing stupid of him to start a CyberWar over something the Russian's didn't do, but then, when the narrative and ideology supersedes facts and reality, there's no telling what might happen next.

But then, on the other hand, Obama had no problem instigating a UN resolution against a long standing ally of the US, and then insulting them about it, so there's no telling what he might do. (Is it any wonder why the rest of the US allies are nervous about this guy? Probably saw what we are now seeing from the very first).

When narrative supersedes facts you get President Trump.

That the Russians did this is the conclusion reached by the CIA and FBI. Congressional Republicans accept this.

The only people who don't accept it are the Trumpeteers, who don't like it because it contradicts their narrative.

Considering Trump (or at least his acolytes) support Assad, you might want to reconsider this. They'll disown you.

That post of mine was over 12 hours ago.

Since then, I've had a chance to review some of the citations people have posted, and this has changed my position and opinion somewhat, and also raised more questions, as due consideration often will.

You should know I'm no 'Trumpeteer'. If anything, I'm more an anti-Hillary.

Confirmed
Russia Hacked
US Government Report 13 pages
https://www.us-cert.gov/sites/default/files/publications/JAR_16-20296.pdf

In summer 2015, an APT29 spearphishing campaign directed emails containing a malicious linkto over 1,000 recipients, including multiple U.S. Government victims. APT29 used legitimate TLP:WHITE3 of 13 TLP:WHITEdomains, to include domains associated with U.S. organizations and educational institutions, tohost malware and send spearphishing emails. In the course of that campaign, APT29 successfullycompromised a U.S. political party. At least one targeted individual activated links to malwarehosted on operational infrastructure of opened attachments containing malware. APT29delivered malware to the political party’s systems, established persistence, escalated privileges, enumerated active directory accounts, and exfiltrated email from several accounts throughencrypted connections back through operational infrastructure.

In spring 2016, APT28 compromised the same political party, again via targeted spearphishing. This time, the spearphishing email tricked recipients into changing their passwords through afake webmail domain hosted on APT28 operational infrastructure. Using the harvestedcredentials, APT28 was able to gain access and steal content, likely leading to the exfiltration ofinformation from multiple senior party members. The U.S. Government assesses that informationwas leaked to the press and publicly disclosed.
1. This isn't a hack. That the highest intelligence agencies in our nation are trying to portray this as a hack shows just how partisan, embarrasing, and unnecessary they are.

2. There isn't any evidence presented that it's the RUSSIANS.

But let's say it was the russians.

Was the information released false? No it was not. The information released showed that the MSM was working in collusion with the DNC in order to sabotage the election. If telling the truth ans exposing the DNC as morally bankrupt and revealing the MSM as nothing more than mouthpieces for the establishment then its a good thing it happened.

Did these "Russians" change voter turnout, poll registrations, tamper with voting machines, or in any way actually change the votes? No no they did not.

If anything the American people should be thanking these phishing attempts because they resulted in a more honest election, a fairer election, and exposing just how corrupt the MSM and DNC are. Thank you "hackers" for helping the United States learn the truth!

In accordance with poplar propaganda:

It would be very surprising indeed, if it were not true. The Russians have been attacking us and the EU at a number of levels in a nonlinear war. One main aim is to undermine the system legitimacy of the enemy. So, why would it seem absurd to believe a war criminal would not pursue his goals?

In accordance with poplar propaganda:

It wasvclear much before this incident that Moscow was building its war by Internet capabilities and activities. This goes back over ten years that I have been watching it unfold. So, it might be that at the edges our intelligence agencies have it wrong along with the Europeans'. But the broad thrust is aggressively malevolent. And this affair fits Putin's doctrine and MO to the T.

I see the trolls in the kremlins basement are at it again.

I didn't say that. Is there some reason you struggle so with honesty?

I find alot of people who disagree with us libertarians struggle with honesty.

We're not, we're asking for something more concrete, ....

From the Sydney Morning Herald:

Obama said the data thefts and cyber leaks could only have been directed by the highest levels of the Russian government.

He said the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security would be releasing declassified technical information on the cyber activities and warned of more to come. "These actions are not the sum total of our response," he said.

Maybe so, maybe not.

What bothers me is all this conjecture with no solid facts.

Excuse me for nit-picking about facts over suspicions and rumor, but that is an important distinction for me.

I'm not one to sit around with the 13 yr old gossip girl crowd.

So here you are making a case for Putin. Pretty safe to say that your loyalties do not lie with America.

Did you think the russians hacked hillarys provate email server?
