The Clinton campaign sought to use election law loopholes to maximize their coordination with independent big-money committees, all while suing the Republicans if they attempted similar tactics.

The strategy memo was unearthed by WikiLeaks on Wednesday. The email had been forwarded to John Podesta, Clinton’s campaign chair, whose Gmail was hacked in March.

I've never seen such blatant corruption & hypocrisy intertwined in one candidate. Hillary was actually using lawsuits to stop the GOP from doing the exact same campaign fundraising tactics that she uses herself!

Can you quote the part of the email that you think shows what you just said?

"As we noted at the outset, we are also exploring ways to attack efforts by opponents that appear to be legally impermissible," wrote Elias.

Elias warned the campaign not to sue on things like coordination with Correct the Record, because they didn't want those efforts curtailed.

"If we proceed with this effort, we will take steps to ensure that any suit pursued on our side is on a topic that cannot easily be applied to any conduct on our side," Elias said.

From what I'm reading, all they are saying is "we are going to do A because we think that A is legal. We will also sue/attack them if they do B because we think B is illegal. If we catch them doing anything that resembles A then we won't attack them for it because we are also doing A."

How is that the same as what you are claiming in your bolded quote?

After watching the Media/Clinton manipulations to minimize any meaningful Sanders dialogue during the nomination campaign, nothing can surprise me from the Clinton campaign. They're covering every base, legally and illegally, and more of the same would be the routine expectation. The Clintons are lawyers and as all lawyers know, "laws are made to be broken," eh? It does look like their endeavors are coming back to bite their asses. Poetic justice? Kharma? What goes around, comes around?

An organization I was affiliated with got sued last year, by the Democrats, for this type of thing. The case got thrown out but it really opened my eyes to the level of corruption and hypocrisy involved with politics. There is, in many political circles, a "by any means necessary" mentality and it pervades both parties.

The idea that so much underhanded crap goes in to an election for a given candidate implies that integrity is an afterthought for that candidate, thus, the candidate shouldn't be within a country mile of an elected office. It's an indication of self service rather than public service and that's anathema to the ideals this nation was built on.

There was a reason that the founding fathers went out of their way to create a government intended to function from the bottom up. There is a reason they carefully enumerated the powers that the federal government was allowed to have and placed the responsibility for electing people to federal offices at the state and local level. They knew that this kind of corruption was part of the political process and tried to protect the people of this nation from it. Unfortunately, people being people, they soon forgot or never truly understood why those protections were necessary and why it was their responsibility to hold their officials to account for violating those protections.

That leads us to today where we are faced with voting for a politician who is the epitome of corruption or a totally unpredictable clown.

Maybe, some time in February or March, when the reality of the situation has had time to really settle in, the people will begin to understand and take responsibility for their apathy. Then again, maybe they won't.

Yet another wiki leaks claim where OP never actually read the "offending" email, but rather took some **** ass blogger at their word

I couldn't agree more. I think what we're seeing up close and personal is what really kills empires or other powerful nation-states (well, most usually). The rewards gained by the labor of past generations make it seem like everything good just comes along, without anyone having to work for it. Life is just one big party, no need for discipline or personal responsibility. All the while, the sharks are circling...
