Hillary Clinton's campaign is touting a substantial 99% increase in Latino voting in Florida compared with this point in 2012, with 133,000 Hispanics already casting their ballot in the state, as part of the campaign's major focus on getting its base to vote early in key swing states.

The campaign included the figure it called "unprecedented" in its latest field report Monday, as early voting begins in Florida, with the 133,000 votes comprising mail-in and absentee ballots.

Just to be clear, early voting means absolutely nothing for election results. Mitt Romney took states that Democrats had a strong edge for in early voting in 2012. What I find interesting is what this may foretell for election day. The GOP prediction about the need for outreach to the Latino community may be coming to fruition.

The Alt Right response is hilarious. If you are an American Latino voter who is not voting for Trump then you must be an illegal.

My bet...Trump starts announcing or tweeting that illegals are stealing the election within a few days.

Any takers?

Well, this Latino sure the **** ain't voting for Hillary. If you are Latino and voting for Hillary, that doesn't necessarily mean you're illegal, just a moron.

I ought it was interesting that trump gained the edge in Florida on the last poll.
It was close but still there.

I do find it odd that there are so many mail in and absentee ballots. Those require a lot more hand checking and verification.

I don't know about other states but here in Arizona the mail in ballots are identical to the ones at the polling place. The only difference in handling is instead of the voter feeding the finished ballot into the machine like they do at the polls the mail in ballots are feed in by a worker at the secretary's office.

Yeah, far better to vote for the orange faced Fascist.

Judging by the turnout at the voting site in my neck of the woods I think its safe to say Texas is going to stay Red.

Parking lot to over flowing and a line of cars around the block for the last 3 days.

All Trump supporters. I stood in line yesterday and got a earful

I would be concerned if I was pulling for Hillary. If this transcends beyond Texas that is

Peoppe are ****ing pissed, with her and the establishment in general.

Hillary's corrupt,above the law. She's establishment.

My voting site has been swamped with early voters and theyre not Hillary supporters. They're more energized now than they were in 2014 and you remember how that turned out.

Hillary may win, but its not going to be a win for the Democrat party. She'll destroy what left of that already damaged brand and the pushback against the establishment will continue ti grow.

Are you in an urban or metropolitan area?

But unless they are checked and verified that they are in fact legit then it opens up for a lot of
Discrepancies. Also there is nothing checked in the system that the person voted. They could easily show up
On Election Day and vote again.

I predict Florida will be bright red. That state is a swamp full of rednecks. like the kind with Truck Nutz.

and they're all armed.

Odd, seeing the opposite here in NV. Have been campaigning (for something unrelated to the Presidential race) at early voting every day. Seems to be an extremely strong Hillary turn out so far, and this is a fair fight district that is almost always exactly 50 to 50 in presidential races. NV might just be a special case admittedly, Trump lost any chance of winning this state when he didn't come out against Yucca Mountain.

Lol, Hillary is the fascist. But thanks for the juvenile response.

No, she's not. Fascist is one of the most misused political terms. It's not a synonym for authoritarian.

Here in Arizona when you show up at the poll they scan your ID. Once you vote the system will flag your ID if you try to vote somewhere else.

This is the perfect reminder of why I oppose early voting.

Right now there is a ****-storm of negatives surrounding Hillary Clinton, from Wikileaks, to undercover videos and now once again, the FBI jumps back into the mix. We have possible "pay-to-play", sending classified info, the using of the Clinton Foundation to amass a personal fortune for the Clinton's, possible election law violations by her campaign, and a list of other things.

So what if late next week, say 4 days from the election, damning evidence surfaces that results in the FBI changing their tune and recommending that Hillary be indicted and face a grand jury on felony charges? We would have 10's of thousands, maybe 100's of thousands of people who already cast their ballot for Hillary Clinton, who can't change their vote.

This is why I am so strongly against early voting. In my view, a presidential campaign is like basketball game, football game, hockey game or other rigidly timed sporting event, where it ain't over until the clock runs out. In the presidential election game, that clock runs out on election day and nobody should be allowed to decide who the winner is until then, because you never know what might happen. An election should be decided by every American, based on information derived from the entirety of the campaign season.

That's my 2 cents anyway.

Honestly, it would not change my vote. Trump is simply that repugnant to me.

I just spent a week in Texas. I sorely miss that place. I love the people. Their politics make me giggle but you will find no finer people anywhere else.

I miss home. :(

So many transplants now, but its no different than it was in the mid to late 80's when we had people moving to Texas from all over the US.

Some moved back home, but most stayed and turned into.....well Texana. The place grows on you

Yes, I remember when we were invaded by the north. I lived there during the crash in the 80's. I remember, "If you weren't born here you don't belong here," bumper stickers. One of the more popular ones read, "Happiness is seeing a yankee headed north hauling a U-Haul." I thought they were funny but it did not flatter the Texas reputation of being the "friendly state" any.

My only bumper sticker read, "Onward through the Fog." (Oat Willie's.)

I forgot how polite strangers were and how important manners are down there. The world could use some more of that if you ask me.

I don't. Our Secretary of State ordered mail-in ballots to be distributed to every registered voter this year. I am a little surprised at how many people are voting early though.

where I live I see mostly Trump signs too. You have to love the how desperate the Trump fanatics are when all they have to cling on is signs and bumper stickers.

I figured it was due to his pronounciation "Na-Vahhhh-Daahhh."

Now that made me laugh. Not only am I also a Latino that will not be voting for Hillary, but the only guy in my family that is voting for Hillary is indeed a moron (and not just politically).
