Feds: Three men planned to bomb Kansas mosque post-election | TheHill

A militia group allegedly planned to bomb a mosque in Kansas after Election Day, according to the Department of Justice.

Three men were charged in federal court Friday with conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction, in this case explosives, in Garden City, Kan., the DOJ said in a statement.

“According to the complaint, these three defendants conspired to conduct a bombing attack against an apartment complex occupied by men, women and children in the Garden City, Kansas community,” said assistant attorney general for national security John P. Carlin. "Protecting our nation from such attacks, whether they are rooted in domestic or international terrorism, is our highest priority.
They planned to use 4 vehicles packed with explosives, the death toll would have been substantial.
These groups are as much or more so a threat than Islamic terrorists

Wow. I hope their sentence is just as severe as if they had done it. And for whatever agency(ies) were responsible? They are heroes.

They caught these ones, but they cannot catch them all. Then we, the public tie them to the stake and second guess them.
They only have so many resources, and they prevented a mass slaughter.

I am so thankful this was stopped. It would have been a terrible tragedy.

A mosque near my house was vandalized.

I go to a mosque sometimes, but that one has not been vandalized or anything. I sometimes worry about a confrontation when I am there. It is similar to the feeling I had in school about a shooting happening.
