Trump Used Russian-Produced Hoax Story At Rally

At a rally in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania last night GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump read a hoax email created and distributed by Russian owned media to attack the Clinton administration. Arguing the email was from the latest WikiLeaks Podesta emails dump, Trump read the email to his supporters not knowing Sputnik – the Russian-controlled media agency that originally published the doctored email – had taken it down after discovering their forgery was too obvious.

Trump cites email that reporter says Russians ‘manipulated’ | New Clinton worry is depressed turnout - MarketWatch

Donald Trump on Monday night touted an email allegedly from Hillary Clinton confidante Sidney Blumenthal that purported Clinton bore responsibility for the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
But the words he recited weren’t Blumenthal’s: instead, they were Blumenthal citing two sentences from a 10,000-word piece by Newsweek writer Kurt Eichenwald that Eichenwald called “hardly the point of the story.” And Eichenwald is asking how Trump “came to push Russian disinformation to American voters.” The email was originally reported by Russian news service Sputnik, which was established by a government-controlled news agency.

Dear Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, I Am Not Sidney Blumenthal

The documents that WikiLeaks has unloaded recently have been emails out of the account of John Podesta, the chairman of Clinton’s election campaign. Almost as soon as the pilfered documents emerged, Sputnik was all over them and rapidly found (or probably already knew about before the WikiLeaks dump) a purportedly incriminating email from Blumenthal.
The email was amazing—it linked Boogie Man Blumenthal, Podesta and the topic of conservative political fever dreams, Benghazi. This, it seemed, was the smoking gun finally proving Clinton bore total responsibility for the attack on the American outpost in Libya in 2012. Sputnik even declared that the email might be the “October surprise” that could undermine Clinton’s campaign.

But the Russians had faked it all, taking a real document released by WikiLeaks and altering it to create a bogus story—one that ultimately was picked up by Trump himself.

Our future president ladies and gentlemen...believes everything he reads in Russian state-ran tabloids. Trump truly is the gift that keeps on giving.

The contents of Podesta's Emails are Russian propaganda ???

Lol !

Sigh...your reading comprehension is terrible.

A state owned Russian newspaper took one of the actual emails from WikiLeaks and intentionally manipulated it and wrote an article about the manipulated email. The same day Trump shared that story at his rally, and the Russian newspaper pulled the story when they realized their forgery had been too obvious.

So no, the contents of Podesta's Emails are not Russian propaganda, but the story Trump shared at one of his rallies from a fabricated version of an email was Russian propaganda.

Does that help?

Let me try to be more clear. The email that Trump shared was not Podesta's email, it was a fake, hoax version of one of the emails that Trump bought into and shared with his followers.

Why would they need to do that ?? Like there isn't damning information in those Emails.

For example........

Under a House Subpoean, Clinton Aides discuss which emails to keep.....and to delete

They did it, and Trump shared it at a rally. That is the level of critical thinking your nominee is showing. He will believe anything Russian media writes.

You do realize that Hillary and her aides brought all of this on themselves, right ??

You guys have to stop trying to spin this into some kookie conspiracy theory about Putins bent on world domination because its just not working

The Russians dont have to embellish the contents of the Wiki leaks emails and no one is going to read them and think " God damn you Putin !! " ( well unless theyre Clinton supporters )

Theyre going to read them and think " what a corrupt duplicitous bitch ''

I don't think Trump believed it because it came from Russia. I think Trump believed it because he wanted to believe it and the source was irrelevant to him. He hears something and runs with it. If it turns out later to be a fake, oh well.

Yet Trump read a Russian doctored email to his supporters. No matter how much you refuse to believe it, that is what happened. here he is in a video doing exactly what you couldnt believe.
Russian disinformation straight from Trumps mouth.

I think a investigation should be done on Trump.

Are you going to respond to the facts?

FACT: A Russian state newspaper altered one of the WikiLeaks emails to create a hoax.

FACT: Donald Trump accepted it as truth and spread it to others.

I get it. You are pissed at Hillary and her aides for being "corrupt" and "duplicitous". Had you chosen any other nominee you would probably be grinding her into the dust right now. But the guy you picked...BELIEVES WHATEVER THE RUSSIAN STATE MEDIA WRITES.

So...you can continue to try to turn this thread into another Hillary bitch session, which I am sure will make you feel a lot better, or you can actually address the TOPIC of the thread. Trump didn't even wait a day before spreading Russian propaganda. That isn't a conspiracy. It happened. Did he intend it? Probably not. But an unwilling patsy of the Russian state is not going to make a better president than a willing one.

Which is even more frightening.

Jesus Holy Christ! How is that even an ounce better? Who wants a leader who only believes the information he wants to hear?

Or a leader that just tells the American voter what they want to hear and has no intention on following through with their " public "policies

I didn't say it was better. What I am saying is he doesn't scan Russian tabloids for stories. This entire Russian 'connection' is just a nonsensical liberal attempt to distract attention from what is coming out from WikiLeaks. They cant deny the stuff so they have to distract attention away from it. I don't blame them, but it is still a distraction.

I will take your inability to address the presented facts of the topic of the thread as an admission that they are valid and you simply find it indefensible.

Next thing you know he'll be asking where the hell Steiner's army is.

Oh no doubt. But distraction or not, it is a very valid point. Trump has people who are apparently watching the alt right news sources in Russia and they are central enough to his campaign that he will spread the information they provide to him regardless of whether or not it is true. The connection is probably more aligned to the type of media his campaign consumes than a connection to Russia.

Okay...

I don't really see any difference between him believing what he reads from a Russian news organization and what you believe from CNN.

Both have an agenda to twist the stories to suit an agenda purpose.

If you honestly think that ANY news media organization is out to provide you with only the facts than you are delusional.

And, yes, before you go there, Fox News is included in ANY news media organization......

So... he is essentially like everyone else in America.

Its called confirmation bias. And we are ALL guilty of it.

And I do mean ALL.

No ****...

The bitch is pro globalism towards Wall Street, and then shies away from that position in public speeches so she can siphon Bernie voters, and.. now that her BFF at the DNC ensured her victory, ensure those Bernie voters would stay with the party and vote for her.

You keep on repeating that in a "Im claiming Victory!!!1!!!!!11!!!" manner.......

Nobody needs to defend confirmation bias. We are all guilty of it, yourself included.

Its just really difficult to take the manufactured outrage from the Left serioisly these days. You guys resort to the same empty insubstantial strategy everytime.

Personal attacks and exagerations and inuendo's. Political opponents are " idiots, morons, incompetent, etc ". Its what you guys did for 8 years when Bush was in office and its what you'll do of Trump some how wins in Nov.

Now you and I agree, Trumps a horrible candidate, but Clintons far worse and here's why.

Whats been leaked so far exposes her true policy initatives and where her loyalty lies and its not with the American people

So personal attacks against Trump fall flat and I think Americans are a little sick of it. Hillary's essentially down to repeating herself, and if she does that in the next debate she'll lose that debate

Americans want something substitive, and by now they know she's basically telking them want they want to hear.

They did it, and Trump shared it at a rally. That is the level of critical thinking your nominee is showing. He will believe anything Russian media writes.

That's because Trump is a moron, and just wants to ride horses naked with Putin, again.

ROFL....

Im curious if that was done on purpose... ??

ROFL....

Nope - I always refer to Trump as a moron.....because he really are one!!

He also thought wrong - a blazing fool like Trump the Moron must be ridiculed whenever possible.

Anybody that ****ing stupid with such thin skin and a tiny animals brain is too easy a target.

Be upfront ... your actual intention is to try to get the campaign's "Don't believe the WIKILEAK emails because they come from Russia" attempt at damage control into the current zeitgeist ... right?
This thread is just an awkward peripheral attempt to help lay some additional foundation for the Podesta strategy.
