And well, here is the result:

The GOP was played like a fiddle and Democrats used every alt-right troll to its advantage. Hillary will now be president because Democrats knew Trump was an easy victory. The best part? The Democrats used what the GOP held to be its strength - diversity in candidates to their advantage. I hope the intern who came up with that idea got a big raise.

He or she earned it.

I do not doubt this at all. Trump was the only leading GOP candidate, except maybe Ben Carson, that Hillary could easily beat. And, given the various revelations over the past two months, she would have been completely smoked by Kasich, Christie or Rand Paul. I suspect even Ted Cruz would be up by close to 3 points today if he was the GOP nominee.

Trump was a gift. Which is why I still say, The Deplorables must secretly want Hillary to be president.

Re: Leaked Emails Show That Trump Was A Tool Used By The Hillary Campaign From Day On

For all intents, she is barely beating him.
If he was as much of a joke as they thought, she should be handing him his ass in the popular vote, but that isn't happening.

Reason being is that as a leader with a very public and sorted past, she's absolutely terrible.

"For all intents an purposes" is a throwaway comment. It's utterly meaningless compared to the most conservative estimates that she's going to win by. It's almost like you're just learning about the electoral college for the first time.

331 to 206 as of today. That's an ass kicking.

I don't care about the fixed numbers of the EC.
The popular vote drives the EC and the popular vote isn't showing a "land slide."

She's still barely winning.
EC numbers are used by partisan shills who want to over state their win.
It doesn't work with R nor D.

Re: Leaked Emails Show That Trump Was A Tool Used By The Hillary Campaign From Day On

Not really sure how you figure that the GOP was "played like a fiddle," when they fought tooth and nail to keep Trump from nabbing the nomination every step of the way. If anything, low information voters are to blame here, because they bought into Trump's rhetoric and low-brow charm in an unprecedentedly massive numbers.

Low information voters, otherwise known as the GOP base. Despite a very crowded field, Trump received more Republican Primary votes than any candidate in history. What the GOP base obviously bought into was Trump's overt racism, bigotry and sexism. He opened his campaign with an appeal to bigotry and nativism and hasn't let up since. The pundits keep saying "what does Trump have to say to finally start to lose his base." That is easy, if he openly renounced bigotry and called for a kinder more tolerant society, he would easily lose half them.

Uh huh. And what was the Gore defeat in 2000? A plot by partisan shills?

Calling the opposition "low information voters" then calling them "bigots."
Are you people even self aware?

Most voters, including "your side" are just as low information as the other side.

Re: Leaked Emails Show That Trump Was A Tool Used By The Hillary Campaign From Day On

I will point out that I have been saying how this election would go since the primaries if the GOP was dumb enough to nominate Trump or Cruz and I have been dead on. Clinton, a flawed candidate, will win in an electoral landslide. As I stated many times over the last year, Trump has given her more than enough material to run the most effective negative ad campaign since LBJ / Goldwater, and she would paint him as a racist, bigot, and sexist and leave him with nothing but his primary base come election day and that is exactly what is happening.

Had the GOP simply had the sense to nominate someone like Kasich, Rubio or even Jeb, they would have won in November running against Hillary. As it stands they will probably be out of the White House for at least a 16 year streak.

Re: Leaked Emails Show That Trump Was A Tool Used By The Hillary Campaign From Day On

Yes I know, when you want to over state a win or "winning" then you'll use the EC.
When you want to call out the other guy, as not winning by much, you'll conveniently use the popular vote numbers.

last I looked the EC vote-total is how we elect the president.

Al Gore won the popular vote.
He actually won, but gaming of the EC was how he lost.
Over stating Bush winning by using the EC numbers is retarded as hell.

How is this controversial?

One could certainly make that argument, but any Democratic candidate that started their campaign by calling Mexicans rapists and murders would have out of the race the day they announced.

Low-information voters, otherwise known as the "base" of the Democratic system in general.

Trump might very well have entranced the "DEY TUK EER JEERBS!!!1!" voters who make up a sizeable portion of the GOP's nether regions, but let's not pretend like roughly half of the DNC's base doesn't only vote blue in the interests of "Obama phones," "legalizing it, maaaan," "eating the rich," or other, similarly, asinine and uneducated reasons.

People are morons. This isn't news.

Please do us all a big favor and back up your ridiculous charges that the GOP base is overtly racist and full of bigotry and sexism.
It's beyond stunning how people can label millions of voters just because they don't agree with your view of this election.

14 million voters just slimed!

I see you're quote mining as well.

A new poll must have just come in and a state must have turned, because 538's most conservative estimate has Clinton now leading with 316 electoral votes. She only needs 270.

The thing about a national poll, which you are clearly leaning on quite heavily, is that it doesn't say anything about which states are leaning toward which candidates. That's what makes it useful as an extremely general gauge, but is utterly useless in understanding specifics.

Yes I clearly understand that she is winning right now in the EC.
With that said, that doesn't paint the whole picture in terms of actual popularity.

EC numbers over state this, without the context of the popular vote and relying solely on the EC as a measure of popularity or likableness is fallacious.
That's just my opinion though.

Wikileaks just put it up. RedState provides the source for download. Not sure if I can post direct Wikileaks links here. I doubt the owner wants that sort of trouble so I avoid even going to threads with Wikileaks.

Anywho, I wouldn't put it past the DNC to automatically want the GOPers facing Hillary to be the crazy ones. I doubt they were expecting the amazing gifts they got this election. Think about it. They made an entire commercial of primary candidates saying the guy who ultimately won was (pick your generic form of) a joke, unfit, not a serious candidate, unworthy etc. Now they all have to either save face and back him or more or less disappear from public view like Cruz has.

The only people who actually saw DT as a benefit to anyone were the DNC... to themselves.

I can't say I'm surprised.
So oddly enough, this could be a Wikileak that helps HRC by highlighting the absurdity of Trump? Funny.

Re: Leaked Emails Show That Trump Was A Tool Used By The Hillary Campaign From Day On

So (if this were true - its not), just so we're clear, you would be a-OK having a President of the United States that associates herself with sex predators like Trump?

In this respect, if she survived her husband, she can survive Trump.

Re: Leaked Emails Show That Trump Was A Tool Used By The Hillary Campaign From Day On

I always said that Trump must be a democratic prop, given Trump's former allegiances to the DNC (which may not be so former).

And yet.....it was not the Dems that made him the front runner. Republicans turned true believers are his base now. Republicans bought and paid for the Donald.....the locker room reality star.

They gave as much thought about putting Trump out there as the McCain campaign gave adding Palin on the ticket.

The electoral college paints the picture that actually matters. President Gore could tell you that.
