GOP Blocks Probes into Trump-Russia Ties

……Russian hackers are apparently trying to mess with our elections. But congressional Republicans are crippling any investigations—while their probes of Hillary Clinton continue…..


“Suspicion is mounting about Donald Trump’s ties to Russian officials and business interests, as well as possible links between his campaign and the Russian hacking of U.S. political organizations. But GOP leaders have refused to support efforts by Democrats to investigate any possible Trump-Russia connections, which have been raised in news reports and closed-door intelligence briefings. And without their support, Democrats, as the minority in both chambers of Congress, cannot issue subpoenas to potential witnesses and have less leverage to probe Trump.

Privately, Republican congressional staff told The Daily Beast that Trump and his aides’ connections to Russian officials and businesses interests haven’t gone unnoticed and are concerning. And GOP lawmakers have reviewed Democrats’ written requests to the FBI that it investigate Trump before they were made public……….

They're probably trying to prevent the Democrats from inadvertently and stupidly starting WWIII over a storm in a teacup.

They are desperately trying to run any kind of interference for Crooked Hillary.

If there is any criminal activity the FBI does not need a request from congress to investigate what ever it is.
They can start a criminal investigation with out a congressional request.

The FBI doe not need Congressional approval to investigate "what ever it is". That is why there are ongoing FBI investigation into both the Russian hacking of the DNC and their hacking of state systems to obtain state voter database. The Dems want a Congressional investigation to make the matter more public and transparent. But, still, there is ongoing investigation by Federal authori.es

I guess there is no point to this thread then, other than to point out a political witch hunt to waste taxpayer dollars. Thanks for pointing this out.

Close, but no cigar. One is born into what they are, to begin with. It is self-determination that has one rise above their “station” in life, with a helping hand from those that recognize your talent. Just as it is those born with a silver spoon in their mouth rise to a gold spoon. Largely, though, rich or poor, you stay where you are.

Our public servants have made a big deal out of "transparency". A Congressional investigation does just that. Including making it obvious by discerning viewers whether or not a witch hunt is obvious and what facts are apparent.

Bah, it's a dog and pony show. The Democrats in either chamber or the administration don't give a damn about transparency, especially the Democrats. I don't buy that crap for a second.

I am pointing out that the circumstances of birth largely determine the outcome of life, though mitigated by self determination. Otherwise, over time, the gradual improvement by self determination would lead closer to and eventually to the top of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. It doesn't

Some $12 million for your hard-earned taxpayer dollars flushed down the drain..........

All finding no wrong doing and not accomplishing it intended goal........

Prevent HRC from being elected......

I dont get it. Why isn't Hillary Clinton focusing on policy and or on her and Obama's past successes ?

You know, instead of exclusively attacking Trump. Why isn't she talking about her jobs plan ? Her plan to fix ObamaCare ?
