The neocons actually called it "The Unitary Executive", and promoted it from the early days of Dubya's administration. Cheney was a big fan of the notion.

And Obama is thrilled to have such sophistry at his disposal. Congress participated with its AUMF sophistry.

The internet is the difference. Right now the rich and powerful cannot control the information being put out by everyone. Our government has tried to sensor the internet. They have been hacking away at it even more sulfurous than our rights.

The Internet has been policed by our government in this country since its inception. Our government has been under control by both parties since the internet came into existence. Both parties are funded and owned by the rich and powerful. Right and left party are a tool of the rich and powerful to keep us divided so they can control our government. When the rich and powerful want something from our government the 2 parties are quick to get it done. When We the People want something they use the parties to keep it from getting done. One for and one against.


The rich and powerful do not own the internet but monitor and police it with our government. The Rich and powerful do own most of the media in this country. A major difference. They control what they let their media support and publish. The way they black out all but their 2 parties in any election. The internet allows anyone to shout out what they want to say. However our government will come after you if you threaten it.

I tend to agree that "the right" is more aggressive and vicious against speech, maybe 20 years ago. But things have changed, and now the movers & shakers on "the left" are just as aggressive and vicious. Those "minor transgressions" or whatever they call them on today's college campus is crazy damn speech censorship IMO.

With the expectation that not-yet published Clinton emails will be published by mid-September, it remains to see how it goes. Only prayer to God is, to make the right person stronger and to side-line the evil. Isn't it true, only this is good for all citizens, not only of US but of all nations in the world?
