Two House Republicans say that Donald Trump’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, deserves more scrutiny over his alleged ties to a pro-Russian organization in Ukraine.

Manafort has rebuked a New York Times investigation published this week that reported Ukrainian authorities found a handwritten ledger listing $12.7 million in off-the-books payments. He has denied accepting any of the payments while working as a consultant for Ukraine’s ruling political party.

Even so, Manafort’s denial hasn’t fully assuaged concerns among some Republicans of whether he has financial ties to forces allied with Russia.

“I want to know what money he got from a pro-Russian organization in the Ukraine,” Rep. Sean Duffy (R-Wis.), who spoke at the Republican National Convention last month, said on CNN’s “New Day” on Tuesday.
The October surprise could be a leak sinking Trump and his campaign manager.
The questions over Manafort are just beginning.
Just starting to get down right interesting.

They should, but only from a point of view where the US' national security or our national security interests may have been harmed or from the standpoint of whether any US laws were broken. However, the US Congress does not have the power to investigate private parties and their private activities - unless you want to include the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC), a committee of the U.S. House of Representatives which operated from 1938 to 1975, created to investigate disloyalty and subversive organizations. Oh, wait...

Other than that, I'm never in favor of government officials condemning a person (short of malfeasance or criminal activity) because they work for someone people don't like - like for Walmart, or for the Kochs, or for Debbie Wasserman Schultz, or Fox News. People are free to work for whomever they wish. The government, nor government officials, should condemn private activities if those activities are not illegal in nature.

This is gettin' juicy...

Yes it is. those ledgers were not suddenly leaked, they had them for quite some time
Now anyone doing business Ukraine, as he did, the whole country is corrupt - pro West - pro Russian
I recall reading some time ago about his work in Ukraine. Was waiting to see what came out.
I think the ledgers are just an appetizer. Perhaps a massive dump on the RNC and Mantofort

Odd how the Dumptsterettes circled the wagons over Manafort.
Anyone with a lick of sense could see that he would be sidelined.

No opinion about the Podesta Group being involved?

Both parties are corrupted.
Big companies with their money and lobbyists buy your Govt.
Is this something that is new to you?

But, you only want to focus on Donald Trump and give Hitlery a free pass.
