Donald Trump’s Pledge to Defend Article XII of Constitution Raises Eyebrows

Asking does not mean you will get a truthful answer from him. He has shot down his own creditibility many times.

And there hasn't been a hell of a lot of the media eager to fact check him.
Maybe if they were told someone else made the statements.

You hardly need to be a media fact checker to know bull**** and ignorance when the Donald opens his mouth.

Say what you want about Trump, he didn't say Hillary is the most qualified person, man or woman, to ever run for POTUS.
Even as hyperbole that was hyperbolic.
What it was was damning with ludicrous praise ... the sister to damning with faint praise.

Yep.. As I thought. Go team!

There's certainly evidence of that.
How about lies and deception when Hillary opens hers?

Greetings, bubba. :2wave:

I think it is extremely interesting that he chose Article XII to hone in on, since he's known for some time that the RNC leaders do not want him to have the job of POTUS! Could his attorneys have found a loophole or something?

What are you thinking Pol?

I'm not sure, but I think there might be a surprise move coming from his corner of the ring! He is not a stupid man - unused to politics- perhaps - , but shrewd in business, definitely! The convention starts on the 18th in Cleveland, and he's aware that they intend to try to replace him with someone else, even though he will point out that he won fair and square by getting the most votes. I don't know......

LOL.

Why yes I do.

You created a thread with a premise you sought to promote. I countered with an appropriate response that I believe negated that premise. In this case, someone else who apparently doesn't know what they are talking about, but was elected to the same office Trump is seeking.

Do you know how debate works?

No, actually what you did is not focus on Trump's error.. THE TOPIC OF THE THREAD, but brought in a red herring in order to avoid that. Kinda similar to what many are doing in this thread... avoid Trump's error and focus on something else instead.

Do YOU know how debate works?

Donald Trump?s Pledge to Defend Article XII of Constitution Raises Eyebrows - Washington Wire - WSJ

The Twelfth Amendment (Amendment XII) to the United States Constitution provides the procedure for electing thePresident and Vice President. It replaced the procedure provided in Article II, Section 1, Clause 3, by which the Electoral College originally functioned.

We have two options... either he doesn't know there aren't 12 articles.... or he really cares about protecting how we elect presidents.. This man is a buffoon.

He'll defend it in all 57 states.

I'm curious. How many right wingers who will excuse Trump for making such and error (confusing Articles with Amendments) also excused Obama for the 57 state comment... or how many will condemn both? In other words, who ISN'T a hypocrite?

Probably not American.

I take exception to your conclusion. I was not avoiding Trumps error. In fact my posts made no attempt to deny it. There was no Red Herring. The purpose was to show that people speaking in public make mistakes. Donald trump made an "error". As a result of this error, the suggestion offered inn the OP was this:

"We have two options... either he doesn't know there aren't 12 articles.... or he really cares about protecting how we elect presidents.. This man is a buffoon."

The video I posted was of the President of the United states campaigning and claiming there were 57 states. I have every confidence the President knows there are only 50 states, yet he misspoke, didn't he? Does that mean he has no clue there are only 50 states? Does that mean he had some future plans to add 7 states during his Presidency? Does that mean he is a buffoon?

It has become the tactic to take simple, innocent moments like the one contained in the OP, and drape them across the internet as evidence of something that only the most regimented can get excited about.

So I suggest I KNOW how DEBATE works. I've explained why I felt the post properly countered the OP.

Oh. I thought you were going somewhere else. Right now it doesn't look like the nevertrump gang has enough juice.

no no. I thought you were going to suggest something about his election opponent, not Convention shenanigans. So I was curious what you had in mind.

So, you are saying that BOTH Trump's comment and Obama's comments were silly mistakes and had no bearing on what they actually knew. Probably they were tired or it was just a silly slip of the tongue. Is this correct?

Probably not American.

I believe the 57 states thing only happen because leftwingers were picking on Bush. You started it. Own it.

I started... what? Try and make some sense instead of posting like we're in middle school playground.

Or address it. Can you tell us what Obama's 57 state comment 8 years ago have to do with Trump defending imaginary amendments in 2016?

Stupid is as stupid does. If you want an ignorant buffoon who will wreck the country, vote for Trump.

Actually, I've regularly made fun of Obama for it. Recently, while making fun of Sander's supporters:

100,000 people in 3500 locations. I'm going to put this into perspective for some of you:

That's an average of 28 people per location.
2,000 people per state. 1754 if we use Obama's "57 states" comment.

Try again.

I thought you were in middle school. just kidding.

Says the poster who is completely unable to write more than 4 sentences per post on a single topic. Kidding! :)
