Except there was a reason and Clinton gave it to them. Its was called Monica Lewinski. Look, I really don't want to relive the Clinton era scandals, but yes, the republicans were looking for anything they could find; yes, Bill was engaging in sexual relations with an intern (something that was then, and is now, considered misconduct); and yes, Hillary was in charge of the squad that was there to handle the 'Bimbo Eruptions;' yes, the same Hillary who is now pretending to be the champion of all women everywhere was in charge of smearing any 'bimbo' who made a charge against her husband. Because the economy was good and Bill was a democrat, he survived a scandal that would have toppled any republican.

Monica Lewinsky is the least significant player in this whole thing. She was 'just' the most recent affair (though if you listen to Bill it wasn't an affair per se. She blew him regularly and he used a cigar to masturbate her. Certainly sounds abusive but hey....who am I to judge.

Except.. ..if you looked at what Clinton did, he asked for precise definitions, and, gave his answer according to the definition given. Misleading, yes. but technically correct, since the prosecutor was incredibly stupid, and provided a definitions that was narrow.

He lied about some consensual sexual activities that he had.

You can try and connect all the dots you want, but the only one that we know is true is that one.

We don't know that he raped Broaddick. We don't know that he had anyone killed. We don't know he was a cocaine smuggler. We don't know that he was actually guilty of any real crime, but he had a (D) next to his name so they made sure he was accused of plenty.

Notice how having an affair isn't a crime. Why were they investigating him ? Shouldn't there be evidence of a crime before the investigation ?

Lying under oath is lying under oath. The *what*, and whether the activity being testified about was legal or illegal, is 100% irrelevant. It's still lying under oath. There are no asterisks that allow for content to decide exceptions to the law.

He's not in the business of controlling students in the criminal manner which they supposedly acted... His subordinates failed to address serious allegations... As noted in the quote you posted.

The cops should have been called and the potential perpetrators (we can't forget the Duke men who were falsely accused) investigated.

It's a simple process called the law. Amazing Starr failed at this most basic concept.
