[R.I.P.] Report: Prince, 57, Found Dead At Paisley Park

From an episode of one of my old favorite shows Mystery Science Theater 3000. The movie they riffed was called Agent From H.A.R.M, which was one of many "spy thriller" films of the time. The clips is a series of riffs on one of the characters of that movie who looked like Prince:

Interesting that our Prince died on their Queen's 90th.

oh man, this sucks..... his music wasn't my bag, but ya gotta give props to extraordinary talent and musical genius.

Purple Rain is , IMO, one of best pop albums of all time.

RIP Prince, thanks for sharing your gift.

Purple Rain was a fab album and movie, BUT have have not been motivated to listen to Prince more than a handful of times over the last 20 years. Not sure if the genius died or if I just lost interest.

heard about this one the way home. it sucks. he was a real talent. RIP.

He played Just about any instrument at a world class level. He also was a great singer and song writer. Pretty much the complete package. He's in the same league (at least) as say Steve Winwood who was also a great songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist

He's sort of like the Magic Johnson of pop music

Stevie Winwood isn't dead, is he?

Stevie Winwood isn't dead, is he?

No, I should have said he IS rather than was.

if you have seen that video of Prince's awesome guitar solo in the Harrison RRHOF induction, I believe Winwood was on the Keyboards

anyone who didn't think Prince was pure hell on guitar missed his solo in the George Harrison HOF induction in 04. that's rated up there with say Page's solo on stairway to heaven, Martin Barre's on Aqualung, or Duane Allman's on Dreams

Yep, the live version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is awesome with him, Tom Petty, etc....

Very sorry to hear this. I have some marvelous memories from young adulthood that are set to Prince's music. :)

His plane had to make an emergency landing in Moline a few weeks ago and rush him to the hospital for a "cold" but something about that sounded fishy at the time.

I knew it.......

RIP sweet Prince. He was a great talent. A lot of people owe their careers to him.

Check the spelling again - "whose" Prince - perhaps the poster thought it was someone of royalty, not the musician, and so reasonably asked "whose" as in which country.

Or, then again, maybe he was just being a jerk.

My money is on the latter.

I can't wait for the Vigilant Christian/Alex Jones conspiracies to begin propping up about this. It's gonna be fun!

Huffpost reports that someone close to him has confirmed. I'm sad. I like his stuff. Never saw him in concert but I heard he put on a fantastic show.

A truly talented guy. I never realized how good he was on guitar until I saw him him in this vid.
Its from the 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame its a tribute to George Harrison. Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne from ELO, Steve Winwood, Marc Mann and Dhani Harrison ( George's son ) along with Prince play that tribute
Prince breaks out a solo at around 3:30 mins in and I was like wow he can tear it up.

yeah, its some amazing ax work

wtf did his guitar go in the end?

Yeah, that was kick ass, especially because it looks like he was basically improvising. What a major talent, and what a loss. I'm glad he was able to record and make music and share his genius with the world.

I can understand that. I'm not necessarily a fan of Prince, I've listened to some of his music but it just isn't my thing, y'know? I'm just shocked that he's dead because it wasn't too long ago that I watched a video about Kevin Smith talking about how ****ing insane Prince was.

What, the video about Kevin Smith trying to direct Prince?

I saw that...he made Prince sound somewhat off his rocker. Sort of like he had been idolized for too long.

Seems 2016 will go down in history as the year music died :(
Now if only someone can convince the universe that Kanye West is a musician then maybe something good will happen this year

Prince Rogers Nelson (June 7, 1958 – April 21, 2016) Rest In Peace

Now I see drugs may be the cause of his death.
