ISIS 'crucifies Catholic priest on Good Friday' after kidnapping him....

Does the West have the will for it?
Let's see.....

Critical issues for the average US citizen.....

When is the next iPhone due out?
What new drone toys are there?
What hollywood movie am I going to this weekend?
What time does my game come on?
What are the Kardashians doing?
When will my cable tv get connected?

Nah...the West it too pre-occupied with material things to worry about insignificant matters such as The rise of the Global Sharia Islamic Kingdom and fall of the free world...or the murder and torture of innocents.
While the left creates and encourages sanctuary cities for illegals and radical Muslim havens for terrorists right here in the US...many are whining they are "too frustrated" to vote or get "involved".

The West will inherit exactly the fate it largely deserves. Sad but true.

Maybe it's not a concern because it really doesn't affect us? Let's be real, how many American citizens have these a-holes actually killed?

How many have to be killed before it's taken seriously? Do you believe Islamists when they say they want to kill Americans or do you think they're just bluffing?

As far as I can tell, they aren't twisting anything. Rather, they're doing exactly as Muhammed said to.

Yes, such evidence exists in the Koran. It is a twisted religious view.

That fate has yet to be determined.

The will to eradicate radical Islamic terror, or any religiously based terror, for that matter. Terror as a tactic inspired by twisted religious views is particularly dangerous, and it's no accident that the leading publication of ISIS is called Inspire.

Why not just eliminate all terrorism instead of only radical Islamic terrorism?

Ooh! Let's go after all crime, actually. Even better. Right?

This question has to be asked? Are you a member of the Obama Administration?

All answers given are vague. That's telling in of itself.

I think the terror count for the globe last year is somewhere near 30,000, but they aren't Americans so we shouldn't care, according to some. We stood by and watched Rwanda and some other notable atrocities in recent times. I'm not a fan of pan-Americanism, but I'm not a fan of standing around and doing nothing in the face of evil, either. The slaughtering of innocents is evil, whether the innocents happen to be American or not.

We seem to be among a diminishing group of people who feel it is our human responsibility to fight evil wherever it exists. Others shrug.

Like, your personal responsibility or are you sending my kids to die in some desert?

Terrorism will always exist as a tactic - it always has existed and there's no evidence asymmetric warfare will disappear. Religiously inspired terrorism is particularly dangerous, however. And no, we will not eliminate crime, poverty, disease or human suffering either. Why not just give up on any effort to eliminate or reduce any of that, since we won't be successful? Screw curing cancer. You're gonna die anyway eventually.

I'll spell it out mor clearly:

HOW do you intend to destroy Islamic terrorism.

I'm sure they do but it's also a question capability and as always cost. We've gotten many more of our soldiers killed and maimed than the idiots in ISIS ever could in terrorist attacks. As well you have to factor in how they react to our actions - i.e. does our sending soldiers over there or our bombing them actually increase the odds an attack against us?

Frankly we have two choices. Ignore them and deal with the terrorist threat as an intelligence matter before the fact and as a police matter after the fact or annihilate them. That needs to be determined by cold blooded cost-benefit analysis.

I don't agree with the practice of blaming evil deeds on a rotten childhood. There's no evidence that these Muslims (or the Jews they are imitating) were abused as children.

It seems much more straightfoward to take themn at face value when they tell us why they do these things, namely because their false prophet told them to.

So you don't view teaching children to murder innocent people for Allah is child abuse?

So you don't view teaching children to murder innocent people for Allah is child abuse?

No, I don't consider it child abuse to teach children religious error. Actually involving children in criminal activity is, but most ISIS fighters were not inducted by their parents as minors. Not all of them were even raised to agree ideologically with groups like ISIS in the first place.

And in any case, you specifically referred to physical battery of children. There's no reason to postulate all sorts of tangential hypotheticals when they've told us in no uncertain terms why they do what they do. They do it because they believe that Muhammed was a prophet, and he said to kill the nonbelievers.

I'll spell it out mor clearly:

HOW do you intend to destroy Islamic terrorism.

The way we were doing it under the Bush Admin (post Operation Iraqi Freedom):

Make any terrorists who is giving orders a specific target for being killed/jailed.
Make being a terrorist a short life span job.
Actively and aggressively pursue developing positive relationships and allies at the local level.
Actively pursue the financiers and providers of logistical support.

It's not a quick solution, it won't stop all terrorism and it's one that demands a long term commitment to following through on virtually every aspect, but it's one that will work to reduce terrorism to minor threat, instead of a major one. The idea that the solution needs to be quick, easy and permanent is a huge part of the problem we face and is why launching the occasional drone strike is a waste of time. We currently lack the level of commitment needed to carry out this mission at the level that it's needs to be taken to.

Because intelligent people go after the biggest problems first.

Americans murder Americans by a staggeringly higher number than terrorism ever has, even the year 9/11 occurred.

If you look at the worst places for murder and violence in the world, they're almost all found in Central and South America, all very Christian places, which is well funded and driven by Americans insatiable appetite for illicit narcotics and the subsequent and incorrect policy of prohibition which provides criminals with an unlimited amount of cash.

Terrorism is a problem.

One we must tackle, but to say it's intelligent to see it as the biggest problem is idiotic, it drums up our baser instincts, to do with conflict.

But terrorism, specifically related to that of Islamic Terrorism, is achieving its goals if you look at how we are reacting.

They want us to overact, they want us to commit vast resources to their defeat and tie ourselves up in global conflicts that we can't possibly win, they want us to marginalize our Muslim minorities so they're ripe for recruitment.

And every terrorist attack, we decide that there are freedoms we can do away with for our protection, specifically related to privacy...

It is sad when multiple administration fully recognizes that this group IS a threat to GLOBAL security, and still refuses to actually send in door kickers to wipe them out.

Then again...a group this brutal and intelligent will take any brutality used on them and make themselves look line victims of western persecution and how all Muslims should stand up against the west.

Many gun-related homicides have a terror component to them. A drive-by is a form of terror. An armed robbery that results in homicide is a form of terror. Gang-related violence has a Sunni-Shia feel to it.

What makes Islamic terrorism so ominous is that it has no real purpose other than to kill people randomly in large numbers for no reason whatsoever, other than to rid the world of non-Muslims of a specific belief system.

And when you have highly appointed clerics issuing fatwas on people across the globe, it only reinforces these terrorists and their unfathomably warped minds.

Soooo you've got nothing then?

Soooo you've got nothing then?

Actually, no, it's you that has nothing. Lumping all gun-related incidents together into a single category, as if all these incidents are the same, is myopic at best. The only commonality is that a gun was involved. There are thousands of factors that go into those incidents: gang violence, suicide, accidental, police-related, homicide.....it's not all the same.

Cherry-picking and false equivalencies should be beneath all of us here at DP. You post numbers that include suicides and acts carried out by people who do not own legal firearms in order to perpetuate a false scenario. The argument was why go after Islamic terrorism rather than all terrorism. You are trying to shift the goal posts and make the discussion about terrorism vs. guns. Truly pathetic on all counts.

Soooo you've got nothing then?

Don't tell me you are a true terrorist sympathizer too are you?

Are you yourself willing to completely disavow Hamas and Hezbollah?

What I have said has NOTHING to do with Gun control, it's simply drawing attention to deaths and violence which is the primary motivation apparently behind our fight against Islamic terrorism.

Those statistics are segerated from suicides and so forth because the average number is 30, 000 firearm related deaths per year, even if a fraction of that number is true, it still shows that Americans kill Americans way more effectively than terrorists could ever dream of doing.

Shouldn't have chosen guns of course, because if guns are mentioned without the words FREEDOM, LIBERTY and Hymn of the Republic playing in the background whilst the decleration of independence is read out by a tear jerking 17th Century Continental soldier cosplayer, it's ALWAYS TO DO WITH GUN CONTROL.

Shall we use Cancer as an example?

8.2 Million people died of Cancer in 2012, the total amount of deaths from terrorism in the year 2012 was around 11, 000...

Imagine how many more lives we could have saved, if we would spend what we spent on fighting terrorism, on cancer research, prevention and treatment...

My point... is that compared to other issues in the world, we waaaaaaaay overemphasize terrorism and we are playing right into the terrorists hands by doing it, it's exactly what they want us to do...
