North Korea nukes Washington… in its propaganda video, anyway

Re: "North Korea nukes Washington"

It was probably posted on Youtube yesterday: there's a difference. And from a Russian state television story?

naaaaahhhh

I've actually found RT to be more truthful than NBC to be honest. They are paid on the Russian Politics section though, I know that for sure. It was founded by the Russian Government, I know that as well, but I have also seen their news program, and they tend to show stories from all points of view, the mainstream, and the alternative. They have less bias than NBC by a lot.

Re: "North Korea nukes Washington"

We should of never taken the nuclear weapons out of Ukraine. Period, it is too late now to do jack about it, other than try to negotiate a treaty with Russia for them to stop their aggression. We probably need to cede land to Russia from Ukraine, because some Ukrainians want to be Russians!

Some of them ARE Russians.

Re: "North Korea nukes Washington"

Some of them ARE Russians.

I know they are being oppressed by the Ukrainian regime, that is why the country needs to be divided up at this point, or allow the Pro-Russians to leave. Regardless, we promised to protect them, we did not put our foot down, Putin just rolled over the red-line.

Re: "North Korea nukes Washington"

The military is dilapidated. BO hasn't followed up on threats to other nations. We're screwed for now. Is BO more interested in these expensive social programs that sap money from the budget? YES.

A thread just isn't a thread without someone whining about Obama.

Re: "North Korea nukes Washington"

It is seven years of weakness by President Limpwrist which has encouraged this sort of conduct by the Kims of the world.

Re: "North Korea nukes Washington"

A North Korean propaganda video shows Washington DC being reduced to nothing by a massive artillery barrage, and then blown to bits by a nuclear missile. Could this be Kimmy Jong Un's wet dream?

Do you believe Kim Jong Un feels he is ready to start a war, perhaps with South Korea, or do something idiotic with his small nuclear arsenal. Do you feel North Korea is one toothpick breaking away from breaking open a 68 year old feud.

If so do you think that the U.S should act preemptively to strike down the dictator for hopefully minimum damage, or wait for him to strike our ally South Korea. Do we help South Korea, or do we betray yet another of our allies.

Regrettably, the real target would be Seoul, South Korea.... SK's capitol, center of business, and home of a huge percentage of South Koreans.

We treat Kim Jong with kid gloves mostly because he has enough conventional artillery poised within range of Seoul to destroy the city within the hour of the order being given.

This, more than their experimental nukes and crotchety rockets, are why we don't stomp Lil Kim into a mudhole.

RT has been known to "fix" news: it's a state program. A couple of reporters quit on air over the program's fixing of stories. So ever since then, I've treat RT like Fox News. The video is provocative in nature and with Russian US relations they are these days, I don't put too much faith in the story.

It seems to me that if anyone is whining here, it is you. Your president--Limpwrist-- is the one who has been in charge of U.S. foreign policy for seven years. It's getting harder and harder for his acolytes to cover his rear. But a lot of them would keep trying to do that even if a thousand people had seen him shoot down little kids on a playground, in broad daylight, and he'd been caught still holding the smoking gun.

Re: "North Korea nukes Washington"

If anything does happen I hope it waits until the new President is in office.

I don't think Obama has the will to fight anybody for anything.

Yeah like taking out bin laden when the previous president said he didn't care.

Quite safe to say this one is accurate, they tend to be biased on certain things, I'm quite sure they have no bias on North Korea. I see it everywhere, so I would put faith in it.

That's fine. It doesn't change my opinion of RT though.

Fair enough, I take every news source with a grain of salt, possibly a full shaker now personally.

Dilapidated?

How? By not spending trillions of more dollars by going into unnecessary wars just to satisfy our dear conservative's quench for violence? We have the strongest military in the world. We have the highest spending by a long shot. We finally have diplomatic relations with multiple countries that wouldn't even speak with us before.

As far as external defense goes, we are doing pretty great.

The problem with any preemptive strike is that S. Korea will be toast before we can stop the missile barrage. Forget the nukes, N. Korea has 1000's of conventional missiles trained on Seoul.

Re: "North Korea nukes Washington"

Let's try to get to the stage where N. Korea backs down, first. War is always the last thing to do. Get Kerry involved with China and Japan to negotiate some sort of diplomatic pressure against N. Korea.

There have been unsuccessful attempts to persuade China to withdraw its support for NK for several years. It is said that this is because China does not want an enlarged and potentially hostile South Korea on its border but who knows?

Way off topic but thanks for playing.

I also think China doesn't want a refugee crisis on its hands when everything goes tits up in the DPRK.

I congratulate you on the rhetorical rhetoric that you've rhetorically used and admire you for your rhetoricalness. Speaking of which, neocons seem to have more of an inclination for using 'war' on the diplomatic front since there are few world militaries that have the same strength or goals as the US. NATO hardly has the same strength and seems not to have the same goals as the US, anymore. The UN has no strength and definitely doesn't have the same goals as the US. When you say the US is making more friends and has more diplomatic relationships with the rest of the world than ever before, this is because the US has changed its stance on world politics and not the other way around. Compromising has come more and more from the US. The rest of the world is 'shaming' the US into making their current stance on many issues which this administration is more than willing to oblige.

Here at home, liberals and socialists seem to have more of an inclination for violence which also isn't squelched by any governing bodies (like the police or the law, for example) for fear of being a pariah or being prosecuted. The old American saying seems to have changed into 'the law is the law unless some people don't like the law' resulting in anarchy that isn't allowed to be squelched by the law or police.

The US military is the most technological in the world. The impetus that gained the US military this notoriety has definitely changed into the 'get along with the rest of the world, don't get in the way of the rest of the world, US military'. These motivations tend to lead to a lack of preparedness and a desire not to being the most technologically advanced military in the world. This is evidenced by the links from a previous post of mine.

Yeah you're right you can dish out rhetoric with the best, if the best = nonsensical partisan babble.

The US is by far the most technologically advanced, well equipped, well funded military in the entire world by a long shot.

You are talking out your ass to spar in a partisan pissing match and you've been steamrolled in this debate, give it up, you're not going to win anything here.

I think we should send them food. Isn't that what Slick Willy Clintooon did? If they're hungry, feed them. We only demonize Nations like North Korea to boost spending in our Military Offense budgets. Demonize, spread fear. Terror, fear. Drugs, fear. Muslims, fear. Let's go after the real enemies, Corporatism, hegemony via Corporate/Banking monopolies. The NWO. Lots of people dying in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, and who's wars are those. That's real wars, following satisfactory amounts of demonization to soften the minds of the sheep.

I know, Ukraine used to be part of the USSR as well,

Pretty decent map, it shows roughly the culture boundaries, we all know countries are defined by culture, and that is one thing Ukraine is split on, and needs to split on, when it has citizens that should belong to Russia in its borders.

Why do you think it took strength to tell a military detail to go after buin Laden.

Obama did nothing other than say "do it".
