BREAKING: Federal Court Rules Prison Gerrymandering Unconstitutional

I disagree. If you commit a crime, you give up some Constitutional rights, such as voting or owning a gun. However, I believe that once a prisoner has been discharged from parole, he or she has paid their debt to society, and rights should be immediately restored.

Depends on what the crime is. If you committed fraud against voters maybe you give up your right to vote for life.
If you committed a violent crime with a gun maybe you give up your right to own a gun for life.
That's probably obvious though.

with you on this except for the rebate provision
that is a monetary incentive NOT to participate but to instead enrich oneself, instead

Perhaps, but the financial incentive is extremely small in the grand scheme of things ($100 every two or four years). And the participation rates are already small for the United States, so I doubt that this new incentive to stay home would adjust the margin negatively.

But it is currently being attempted in Seattle, so we will have to wait and see what the data shows.

And of course if one uses any of the prohibited drugs, one "gives up" the right to vote and hold office.

Prisoners should be allowed to vote. Never understood why they decided to make a law to where they couldn't. Voting/not voting has nothing what so ever to do with their crimes.

It is just felon's I do believe.
also they can vote after they have served their time.

while they are in prison though their voting rights have been suspended.

Several states require an application and approval before voting rights are re-established. Usually from the Governor.
