In his general audience Wednesday, Pope Francis launched an appeal to the nations of the world to open their hearts and their doors to migrants who are standing “at the border,” in an apparent reference to the many migrants camped at key border positions trying to enter Europe.

During the last year, more than 1.1 million migrants entered the European Union and the unabated flow has prompted countries along the main migration corridor through the Balkans to seal their borders, leaving tens of thousands encamped in Greece.

The Pope compared today’s migrants to the people of Israel who were deported into Babylon in the 7th century BC, as recounted in the Biblical book of the prophet Jeremiah

Vatican, big place, lots of room. On with it. Just make sure they pray in the right direction.

It is always easy for the Pope to place fiscal and social problems on others, but just the Pope saying to nations to "open their hearts and their doors" does not means migrant issues magically disappear.

IIRC, in per-capita terms the Vatican had taken more people in than most nations.

The Pope asking people to act Chritian to those less fortunate? Who the hell does he think he is?

;)

Apparently he likes Muslims raping Christians in the streets of Europe.

Pope Franny needs to mind his own business.

Or prepare to be enriched (raped).

Still no word on when the Persian gulf nations will open their hearts to their muslim neighbors...

I find his comment strange considering the Vatican City has a thirty foot wall around it to keep those pesty intruders out.

I wonder what the immigration laws are there?:)

People said the same thing after Franny took a potshot at Trump.

Another one of those times when I am glad that we have a separation of church and state. The Pope's words mean nothing. In fact, they can serve to defeat any attempt because of that separation.

Umm they've taken in quite a few?

Umm they've taken in quite a few?

beyond turkey, lebanon, iraq, egypt, UAE and jordan, which arab nation has taken in syrian/libyan refugees?

answer:
Saudi Arabia: 0
Kuwait: 0
Qatar: 0
Bahrain: 0

As Saudi Arabia faces mounting criticism for refusing to take in any of the millions of Syrians fleeing conflict in their homeland, it was revealed this weekend that the country has over 100,000 empty, air-conditioned tents that could house up to 3 million refugees.

The tents, located roughly 2,150 miles from Syria in the city of Mina, are only used a few days a year to house pilgrims on their way to Mecca for the hajj, the news station TeleSUR reported.

He is minding his business.
Didn't think that one through, didja.

so clever
it's not like the pope has ever been shot

which has nothing to do with what I said, but everything to do with what he says.
he is anti-gun but surrounds himself with them.

he is supposedly anti-wall, but has a huge one around the Vatican.
in which at any time they can shut it off from the public.

maybe practice what you preach.

but he also recognizes if guns were not everywhere persons holding his position would not require the protection of armed guards to prevent him or his successors from again being the target of an armed assailant

he is against walls that keep out good people. please share with us how that ancient wall of the vatican keeps out good people

maybe practice what you preach.

fallacy

prove they are good first. I don't see the Vatican taking in all these refugee's. I am sure they have a ton of places for them to stay

what have i preached that i failed to practice

yes yes he has which is the whole point.

Calling them Arab nations shows you know nothing about the region's ethnography.
